Actually the strings are left long to make sure the IUD is in it's proper place so you can check it month to month and NOT anything to do with free healthcare and removing it on your own. Omg. Common sense, folks. I had the strings cut short because my husband could feel them and it was uncomfortable. I would err on the side of caution and let a doctor remove it (myself) since my cervix isn't something I want to eff up by accident.
@taylorsmommy1017 My doctor also asked me short or long, but it was so I could check the position on my own, not remove it.
@taylorsmommy1017 never heard of such. I had mine removed by my doctor. I would never attempt that on my own.
Thank you all... I have the skyla because they all are too big... My strings are cut very short as well for the same reason. I was just asking if anyone has done it and accomplished it.
