@noahs.mommy same here I remember when I was my daughters age she's 8 going into the pet store and the owner had one on his chest and let me hold it since then I loved them and had to have one deanrsy our female was so sweet my 5yr old was about a year and a bit when we got her they were fast friends and Bob our male was the same

@noahs.mommy that's so cute I had 2 bearded dragons they were so calm I took them almost everywhere and they would just chill on my shoulder and would cuddle in next to you when they were out of the tank

@ironbutterfly, he’s pretty cute. His body is about the size of my pinky. I think he might be a blue belly and my dad used to catch them for me at the lake just to show them to me and let me touch and then release them. I know they do this for different reasons but I THINK these ones when in their backs if you pet their bellies with your finger they “fall asleep”. Correct if I’m wrong @oktoberwitch. I won’t be touching him after he’s moved to a permanent enclosure though.

@ironbutterfly, I actually found 10” steel feeders. Giant tweezers 😂. I used those and it was actually really easy! I had to get tiny 2 weekers for him so it was easier than trying to grab them with my fingers when I don’t want to do that anyway lol

I had 2 bearded dragons my male sadly passed last week but we had this cricket container that had these Lil tunnels that the cricket went into and you didn't have to touch it I didn't use it but It worked meal worms are good but watch out they do turn into beatles which are creepy lol they are big and black and gross I don't mind touching crickets or meal worms but I hate the Beatles lol

@oktoberwitch, wow! That’s so crazy! I do feel bad for the lizard but we’re going to get him set up today. When I went to get crickets I looked around for reptile tanks and stuff for the tank so he’ll be all set soon I hope

@noahs.mommy, reptiles CAN take MONTHS but typically take about a month. My husband is in the process of building us a reptile room so we have quite a few. Right now our created gecko that we’ve had for about 3 months still won’t eat or be touched.

@oktoberwitch, we just got him yesterday we’re going today to get all his stuff he needs he’s super freaked out right now m. I didn’t know it could take that long!

When did you get this lizard? It can take them up to a month to eat. They need time to adjust to their surroundings, their temperature (which with a plastic tank it looks like, you probably don’t have heat or UVB set up, which is another reason he won’t eat), and you shouldn’t touch him or handle him or even be around the tank except to feed him in that time.

@tinyhumansbitch, I do have lizards...

They make specialty feeding tweezers.

What I usually do though is just get a bag (you want small sized) of about 5-10, and dump them in the tank... you could also probably do meal worms.

He might not be hungry. They don't eat all the time like we do

Some lizards will eat meal worms if you don't wanna do crickets 🤷

They have big tweezers at pet stores for the worms and such. My neighbor has lizards and uses tweezers to feed them.

I used to just drop them in the tank and close the lid. He liked catching them
