Some women get a positive test at 8 days past ovulation/6 days before a missed period. Every time I've been pregnant I've gotten a positive test days before my missed period. But if you do test before your missed period and get a negative, it could still be too early. So I always keep testing until my period shows.

It takes 6-12 days after ovulation for baby to implant. Then 2-4 days to show up on a test. 8 days after ovulation is the earliest.
