Not at all. Suckling is instinctual and so I feel that some babies really benefit from using one while they are new 😊

If they don't calm or sooth any other way heck no. My daughter had one from the start and so did my youngest son wish I would have done it with my oldest

After I gave my baby a paci and it came out of her mouth and started crying never again I gave her one. I think it's just a bad habit that I didn't want to deal with when it was time to take it away. She's done fine without one

We haven't gave ds one at all since he was born and before anyone says 'so he sucks his fingers/thumb' he doesn't suck on his fingers or thumb.

My babygirl refuses a paci; I’ve tried when I’ve been desperate and felt bad but she doesn’t even want it so it worked out I guess

The hospital gave my bub a paci when he was 3 days old and it's been a lifesaver! I wasn't happy at first but sometimes they just can't be soothed and the paci works everytime. Also i read somewhere that babies with a paci have a decreased risk of SIDS.

Not at all. All three of mine at them at one point or another. I made the mistake with my second of waiting 6 weeks before attempting a bottle or pacifier because of breastfeeding and regretted that. By that time he wouldn't take it. This time around I gave him one right away. He doesn't always want it, but at least I know something other than my boob is an option, lol.

I did. But thats because we where told not to. I know now that they said that because they thought we were doing that already and that it was causing his poor weight gain. He took it until he self weened from it around 7months. And his sister has one now. A NICU staff memeber was encouraging her to suck her thumb 😡 I worked on that habit and replaced it. Now she uses it as needed. Mama's nipples can only take so much.
*** i joke often that that's why men have nipples... they were the first pacifiers. 😅🤣😂

Nope. I gave them to all 3 of my babies imo better then having them suck on their fingers after all you can take the paci away when they are older you cannot take their hands away lol.
