Transitioned my baby to whole milk today. He had about 3 cups of whole milk throughout the whole day. He hasn’t pooped all day tho. Should I be worried? What can I do to prevent constipation from switching to whole milk?
@mother.of.2, I don’t know why this app says 10 months but my son is 11 months as of today and I started transitioning yesterday but he actually pooped twice today already
Also if baby is on formula it's okay for them not to poop for at least 3 days I'm not sure what the exact number is though
When I called the WIC yesterday they told me that at 11 or 11 and a half months you can start giving half and half to try to transition them so a lot of moms on here suggested to me 2 oz of whole milk and 4 oz of formula for a week and see how it takes on his belly and to see if he gets constipated and then the next week do half and half and then the following week do full only because if you do full something like that happens then you have to cold turkey and switch all over again. Maybe try soy milk or 2% but not all at once
They should be on formula or breastmilk until 1 year. Prunes are helpful for constipation
Your 10 month old? I thought milk shouldn't be given until at least 1yo due to digestive issues?
@raquely, he is 11 months and the doctor suggested that it was ok to start transitioning him
