Has anyone's doctor actually encouraged or recommended red wine while pregnant? Just curious. Never done it, but always…

You act as you care or are educated, but don't know how to articulate properly in a way that can actually help. This post is clear example of why alot of ladies are leaving the board. There's a difference between an opinion - and commenting on a post to bash and be sarcastic, put others down, even those who have said their doc support it.

I’m a big wine drinker (normally) but I never inquired with my doctor. I have also heard that one glass is ok but I don’t know for sure. Only thing I really know is that wine hasn’t sounded good at all. I was so sick for the first 22 weeks and now I’m so tired there’s no way I’d even want a glass even if was harmless 😋

With my first I had less then a glass of red wine here and there my son was born healthy and fine , I didn’t consume it everyday. So I guess I’m labeled as a bad mom as well . Clearly some didn’t understand your post .. everyone has there own thoughts ❤️🤷🏼‍♀️

Oh man with these comments 🤦‍♀️. OP I had a doctor say a glass of wine on occasion is fine. I had a glass of wine here and there with my first 😮. I did my research and came to my own conclusion about it. Apparently I am a horrible mother who shouldn’t have children 😂 😂

My doctor actually told me is was fine to drink a glass of wine but to not do it after a time period but just to be save i wouldnt consider it myself to take it but its just depends on you its your life.

@angelfoodcake personally I've had 3 drs tell me it's ok, 1 glass a day. every Dr. Is different, this is also a touchy subject as you can tell from the other comments lol... you do you Mama! If you ever want to talk you're more than welcomed to message me!

@angelfoodcake You should've know this is what it's gonna be. And I don't care if people are leaving and can't take the truth it an opinion. This is an adult page and that's a reason why kids who get "butthurt" shouldn't be on here. I don't really give a crap if doctors are okay with it. It's alcohol so it's bad. THAT IS ALL I WAS SAYING. What part of that don't you get? Either you're missing something or just ignoring people who don't agree with you. Also, yes or no answers wouldn't have helped you anyway? I'm done, no hard feelings. And trust me I'm not getting mad at the "Truth"... I don't wonna drink, all I was was curious. Period. I'm no medical professional and never asked mine, or been advised, therefore Im not qualified to answer the question or put someone else down who has gotten the okay from a medical professional.

And I'm sure she didn't mean YOU she meant WOMAN. I'm not bullying you. You are just taking offense to the truth.

My MIL is a midwife and she said it's fine every once in a while to have a glass of wine. My CNM also said the same. And ibalso asked a few OB's. All said a glass was fine every once in a while.

@angelfoodcake No one assumed anything about anyone on this post? I don't know where your head is but it's irritating. People can have options and comment on a post if you post it? You asked if anyone has ever heard it and people answered how they wanted to. And how they thought acceptable. No one was being sarcastic or assuming. You now are doing just that. We are supporting by saying woman shouldn't do it. And having an opinion plain and simple.

My primary care physician said it was fine and even admitted to me she did it in the third trimester.

I stopped going to her because of that and several other things I didn’t agree or like about her. She pretty much said I should have an abortion because my second baby was not planned and I suffered from depression. She also loved to tell me I should try a weight loss program when I was fine with my weight. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I’m not sure where doctors get the whole “alcohol is safe” thing because there is no scientific evidence of that being true. Of course it’s because what mother is going to be willing to be a guinea pig for a study like that? I don’t think it’ll ever happen.

@soon2bemama I just think some of us can be a little nicer especially if we have the knowledge to actually help one another. You know how it is here, it's gets ugly and it really silly . We should support one another

I was never told yes or no by my doctor about drinking a little bit of wine during my pregnancy and I am a big Wine Drinker since I don't drink hard liquor but I just didn't do it. Whether it's good or bad weather I was told by my doctor I could or couldn't I just didn't do it. Maybe we don't know how one small glass of wine twice a week during pregnancy can affect the baby. Maybe the medical professionals really don't know either. So when it comes down to it it's just not worth risking it.

@soon2bemama cleary my expectations were too high and I was naive to think a group of women could have a conversation without assuming things about one another or using sarcasm to make a point.

My doctor doesn’t suggest it & they test you to make sure that moms don’t consume any alcohol while pregnant. However I did drink before both of my kids and before I found out I still drank. With my son I drank when I was pregnant and didn’t even know, with this baby I took a test and it was a weird positive so I continued to drink every other weekend until I was sure and my doctor said as long as I don’t continue baby will be fine. However I did hear it was okay to drink wine while pregnant but I wouldn’t risk my baby at all

@italianarosemarie No not at all, just curious as I said and your fine. I'm not upset with anyone just don't like the potential bashing or agruing. It was just a question that I have honestly heard always told that it was okay. Never actually heard a doc say it or asked...

It's all good, just not one for the drama posts. And it's not that serious...just making conversation. However I will ask my doc although I'm not interested, again just curious as to what other people medical professionals have actually told them.

@italianarosemarie I never said I did it or even wanted too, it's something I've always heard and was curious if anyone actually heard a medical professional advise. Nothing more, nothing less. I personally am not a big drinker at all, not craving it or anything just a question being I always have heard it was okay.

@soon2bemama they do it I look at them crazy I done had a Dr tell me when I was pregnant with my 3 year old that I need to get an abortion cause all me and my husband gonna have is boys yes he was foreign said it to multiple patients we all reported his ass and now he got terminated

Girl I wouldn’t do it. Just wait until after the baby comes. Lol I do miss wine. But you don’t know how you’re baby is going to react to it. Wine might be ok it might not. Question though and I’m honestly really just curious , are you doing it because you miss it or because you think if benefits the baby? Cause I heard that too but I couldn’t get myself to do it for some reason lol

No. My doctor was very adamant about telling his patients that consuming alcohol while pregnant was not advised.
