How Would I Know If My Baby Girl Has A Tongue Tie Because I'm Thinking That's Why She Uses Her Tongue When She Breastfeeding And It's Making It Hurt More

Omg. I'm in a mommy group on Facebook and this lady posted pictures of her 1 WEEK old daughters tongue and asked what it could be. Shes at the ER trying to find answers bc her daughter won't latch, or drink from a bottle no matter what nipple/bottle she uses. Everyone says it looks like tongue tie. No big deal, but in the pictures, she has her daughter's ears pierced! She's 1 week old and her ears are pierced. Comments are being deleted bc it's not safe to Pierce a baby's ears that young and people are trying to tell her that but admins keep deleting their comments.

I got my tongue re-pierced and holy crap. It hurts so bad! It hurts worse this time around then the first! I'm thinking scar tissue! I'm glad she put a large bar because my tongue is so swollen it's hard to talk and eat!😣

You would have to get her evaluated by her pedi or an ENT I think.

Find a pediatric dentist trained in diagnosing and revising ties. A lot of pedis and even ENTs aren't properly trained (though some are). If you have Facebook check out the Tongue Tie Babies Support Group. They have tons of information and can point you in the direction of properly trained professionals in your area

@my_fave_5, yes , and one time he bit a literal chunk out of my nipple from the tie . He has a tongue and lip one . @crissie22, and that’s not true my son has one and he can still lift his tongue lol
