Curious to hear some answers on when you were able to put your babies in their cribs and they would just fall asleep on their own. I'm hearing a lot of 6 months old. I know every baby is different but still curious to hear other mom's answers 😁.
( my son is 5 months and currently we are still doing our bath then bottle routine in a dark room to get him to sleep. He will not just go to sleep if we don't do this).
@melissamichele05 This article was the best resource I used. There's a step by step section which was most useful.

@mommy.to.sterling I'm hoping my little guy will do this soon. We got very lucky, he's been sleeping through the night since he was about 3 months old. But I have to get him to sleep. If I just put him down and left the room he would cry until i went in to get him.
Dd is about to be 3 and still needs me to put her to sleep. I have to sit right next to her bed (which is still in my room) and wait about 30 minutes until she's in a deep sleep
@leowifey what is the ferber method? I havent heard of it. I'm interested though!
@melissamichele05, I’m hoping my son does cause I can’t do this with 2 of them . I’m still trying to get the princess in her bed but it’s not working very well lol
It was right around 6 months for us I think. LO was already moved into his own room/crib, but our bedtime routine needed a few revisions until I figured out how to get him to fall asleep on his own.
I did use the Ferber method (which some people will bitch about as controversial) and after a few nights he was able to put himself to sleep without fussing at all. It is heaven.
@melissamichele05 I completely understand, my SO was the same way being a first time dad. I'm not much of a worrier but my DD isn't the first child I raised, lol. My sister had 4 boys and I helped her raise them so I had lots of practice!!! But like you said you never know till you try.
@emily526 my mom tells me the same because this little guy stretches and I'm immediately awake and I just never get a good nights sleep.
@cjl020415 same here. Me and my boyfriend toss and turn way too much.
@mommiesaremagical14 my baby def could go in his crib now. I was scared to put him there when he started rolling to his tummy but couldnt get back to his back. I just feared he would suffocate or something. He can roll back now so I really should try him in there and stop fearing so much. He does nap in there during the day.
@melissamichele05 I tried the bassinet in the same room for a few nights because my daughter was in the NICU a little while as well. She would make lots of little noises throughout the night though and I found I was literally not sleeping at all because of it. My mom suggested putting her in her own room in her crib and she did so good that's just what I continued with. So you never know, give it a try and see what happens. It may or may not work for you, every baby is different.
@melissamichele05, mine were in nicu for a week so I know how it feels that’s why I kept them in my room so long I’m just way too rough of a sleeper to have them in my bed.
@nlock it seems a lot of babies dont like their cribs lol.
Sadly my daughter still cosleeps we tried putting her in the crib but momma needed her rest so she’s just in our bed still
@cjl020415 @cjl020415 @emily526 maybe I should have started from the beginning lol. But he was in the NICU for 8 days after birth and I was just too scared to not have him next to me in his bassinet. He's still in our room just in his pack and play now. I just dont want to be doing the wrong thing by still following our bedtime routine
I had my daughter putting herself to sleep in her crib maybe about a week after she came home, but when her father came home about a month later he completely ruined it. Now she needs him to lay down with her and cuddle before she will sleep. Worst part is I'm not good enough for her lol so he HAS to be here for bedtime
My twins were in their own beds from the time they were born, they were in my room for about 8 months then I moved their beds to their own room.
@newlywedmama21 that's awesome with your first baby!! I'm now seeing a lot of you mommy's saying 2 yrs old so I guess I have a ways to go lol
First born was sleeping in his crib the night he came home and then putting himself to sleep and staying asleep around a month old. We def got lucky! But now that we have a bedtime, he starts getting ready for bed at 7 and doesn’t fight it.
My youngest has been doing it since birth....but my oldest? Mannnnn.....she never really did til the time she got her toddler bed at 2 I believe
@mokimbo oh wow! I hear a lot about this sleep training stuff but it sounds so draining 😔

Will your new babies be sleeping in a crib, bassinett, pack n play or co-sleeping?? I'm just curious because I don't know what to do at first.

Just when we thought we were done hearing about it.
hey mommies to be! quick question, what do your babies heart rates usually run, and is it a boy or girl? just curious since we don't know what we are having just yet
Still haven't told DH...
...that we're expecting! ? Tonight we were at dinner with my brother and SIL and they just had a baby 4 weeks ago. She said something about babies and DH replies, with such an attitude, "uh no! Never again, we are done!"
you're welcome! Hopefully it helps!
