VENT...My husband and I were told in February that we were expecting a girl... we decided on a name, and began buying clothes and accessories, and even had our baby shower last Saturday. All of the baby's clothes were washed and put in the closet... everything was ready for her arrival. Fast forward to today... I'm 34 weeks and 2 days and have to get non stress tests and ultrasounds twice a week... well today, we found out that we are having a boy and not a girl. The lady at the anatomy scan read it wrong!!!!! We can't even return/ exchange the clothes because all of the tags were removed so they could be washed🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ Now we have to think of a new name and buy all new stuff because nothing was gender neutral.

Ugh, so sorry girl 😞 If everything is basically new and in great shape you can sell it as a bundle on the FB marketplace or you can take the clothes to a resell shop, at least that way you can get some of your money back to go toward boy items.

Also, some resell shops will give you store credit instead of cash for baby items that you can use in the store

Frustrated is an understatement...I feel even worse for my husband because he REALLY wanted a little girl😔.

This happened to my husband. He was suppose to be a girl and ended up being a boy once he was born. So they had dresses to bring him home and picked his name out of a hat. 🙈

Wow that is so terrible. I would be so mad. I don’t know where you got the clothes but I know some stores like target don’t require the tags. They can just look them up in the system. It might be worth a shot.

@lilinnocence718 I would have preferred to find out at 20 weeks, but it was probably better that we found out now than at delivery

@mrs.dixon89, that is true! You still have a bit of time to gather stuff now that you know. Maybe starting with just Nb/0-3 and then waiting till after to stock up on more stuff so you don’t have to stress yourself completely.

Oh no, I'm so sorry! That sucks so much. This happening was probably a secret reason of why I didn't want to find out. Hopefully you can find somewhere to sell the clothes, but I can only imagine how you're both feeling right now. Ugh.

Ugh I can’t even imagine butbtry to stay positive hopefully u can find some buyers for all the girl things and start getting for baby boy u still have time so don’t be discouraged

I saw this happen on Facebook. The mom actually put up her story with the pictures and another mom had the same thing happen with opposite sex and they traded! Wishing you the best of luck!

literally that’s my fear if my doctor told me they read the gender wrong and i was already far in my pregnancy cause it happened to my mom they told her i was supposed to be a boy and when i was born they saw i was a girl 🤦🏻♀️but still congrats !❣️
