I heard for moms that get induced experience more labor pains and it will last pretty long until baby is out. Is this true for moms on here that have been induced?

Pitocin makes contractions more intense. It depends on how dilated and effaced you are before starting the induction and how ready your body is and how it takes to it. I was already 3 cm and 70% effaced when they induced me at 38.4 weeks and delivered just under 7 hours. But if they need to insert the meds that soften your cervix first I believe it has to stay in you for 12 hours before they start giving you Pitocin?

I would say so it’s very dragged out and I still ended up having to have a c section

I was only induced with my last pregnancy she’s 2 years old now but I was in a lot of pain from the contractions. I gave in and asked for a epidural! My doctor didn’t give me pitocin she inserted a pill up my cervix called Cytotec. I had to stay laying down for a hour and then they would check me to see if I dilate. I could feel small contractions but not intense ones. They had me walk around for a couple hours and no progress. So the first pill didn’t work 4 hours later they inserted another one and this one made me have abnormal back to back contractions that would take my breath away I couldn’t keep up and was so exhausted from breathing thru them that I couldn’t physically think I can push my baby out with no energy. I asked for a epidural and 30 minutes later I went to full blown labor and my babygirl was born! That epidural felt amazing BTW😋

It slowed everything down for me. I was induced with my first at 1pm on the 18th of January and he wasn't born until nearly 11pm the 19th and it had to be csection

I’ve only ever been induced but from my experience contractions are a thousand times worse after your water breaks. Up until then, even with pitocin, it’s not as bad.

I was induced 3 weeks ago.

I had cervidil and pitocin

I had an amazing experience and went all natural for the first time. I was in active labor for only 5 hours. 3 pushes and she was out.

I had natural labor with my first 2 and induced with my 3rd. They never used pitocin but my labor was much quicker and painful. They used cervidil and cytotec to induce which I will never recommend to anyone. At the time I didn't know the risks of cytotec and I'm thankful that nothing bad happened.

I've only ever been induced so I don't have comparisons. Both my labors were around 6/7 hours. Fortunately for me, my Dr didn't just keep pushing pitocin to speed things up (there are Drs that will though) but the contractions did come on fast and strong and with my second I had to labor and push while on my right side because of complications along with almost having to get sent back for an emergency C-section. I wouldn't recommend an elective induction to anyone. I felt cheated out of a birth experience since I didn't get to experience it all on my own.

And the contractions were stronger because of the pitocin

I was induced at 7:00 at night they started the pitocin so I felt contractions all night until I was 7cm at 7:00 am and that's when they gave me the epidural and broke my water and then I was 10cm in no time. So basically all night I was in pain from contractions

Why most " moms " doesn't like being induced?? 🤔

2
cee08 @kellyl22, why not say " moms " if the question pertains to pregnant mothers? 🤔✌🏽
cee08 & woman that have been pregnant
kellyt23 I was wondering about the quotes around it.

just a question for the moms, how many of you were induced? and it being a successful labor, or did you end up with a c-section?? I'm just curious. my doctor let me choose to be induced on my baby boys due date, or wait.. and I chose to be induced!!

1
khefner812 sorry!! lol this is just my first little one. and I'm getting nervous, I have 7days left.
nharri22 I was put on the pit with both of my kids and was successful with a vaginal
angelkisses it's okay. yes it keeps them strong and steady which is what you need to dilate. @khefner812
