How do you mommas brush your kids teeth? My son is 2 and I use kids Colgate and his Colgate kids toothbrush. I put a little toothpaste on and brush away, then rinse the brush and brush again with just water. I know they say not to swallow toothpaste but how else are you suppose to brush a toddlers teeth?? He also chews a fluoride tablet after brushing every night before bed.

@phoebesmommy, I trust my dentist. Thanks for your opinion though! We are really going to work on the spitting now though because I do agree fluoride is good at this age, as long as she doesn’t swallow it.
@amysbabies, you should be using fluoride toothpaste unless there is fluoride in your water. My DDS says just barely a tiny whisp of it on toothbrush. I mean barely any.
OP you can have your baby lay down on the floor with head between your legs body facing the same direction as you- meaning legs away from you. Hold arms down with your legs so you can pull back lips and brush the gum line and down the teeth away from the gums like you’re sweeping.

I have a fluoride free toothpaste for my son and it's a natural kind that is safe for him to swallow. I just put a little on his toothbrush and I quickly brush his teeth on top and bottom then I put water on the brush and do it again. After that he basically does the rest of the brushing himself because he wants to.
My daughter’s dentist told me not to use fluoride until she is able to spit it out properly. I still have to hold her down during brush time, so toddler toothpaste it is! They also have fluoride free toothpaste, which I might move to until we can work on the spitting part.
Kinda like white splodges on the teeth. Google it if you don't mind looking at teeth close up. I almost put a screenshot and then realized some people might get grossed out.
(I totally thought it was cavities at first and I was like "how does he have cavities!!? We were just at the dentist, she said he was great, and I brush all the time 😩" and then my fiance went 'He's fine, it's because of the flouride.')

That's about how I do it. He gets a smear of toothpaste. I was giving him a floruide vitamin but his teeth started getting fluoride spots so I stopped and they went away.
His dentist said that a smear is fine, it's not like it makes much bubbles.
