So I’ve noticed being on this app a lot of women go into labor around 35-38 weeks.. or induced.
I have a feeling I’m going to be in thoses weeks but just curious how many of you have made 40+ weeks??
@princessrose, I had the protein thing happen at 30 weeks, I wonder if my doctor will take that into a medical concern as we get closer like that. Everything has been smooth since
@blessedwithnumber4, awww congrats!! And I hope everything goes very smooth for you
I was 37 weeks and 38 weeks both was natural
I was induced at 37+4 because at my 37 week appointment I had protein in my urine. They kept me monitored at the hospital (I would go in every day and I would pee and they would check my protein levels to see if they went up and then I would have my blood pressure checked) and my doctor decided that even though my protein levels weren’t shooting up, they were increasing enough so we should just induce instead of making me come back and forth from the hospital.
I went into labor at 40 weeks 2 days had my son at 40 weeks 3 days . I went naturally I just ate dates to induce labor naturally the day before lol
@joyfulmom2b, my son came on his own (emergency c section) my daughter i had a scheduled c section but my water broke on my c section day and my son came earlier than my c section date that was scheduled for 39 weeks
My sister was going to be induced at 39 weeks for medical reasons, but wound up going into labor on her own a few days before. I don't think most doctors induce before 40 weeks unless there is a medical reason, but sometimes they may set an induction/c-section for 37/38/39weeks if you've have previous children and they had come earlier, and the doctor doesn't want you to go into labor on your own for whatever reason. Which I guess falls under medical reasons too.
My first pregnancy I went into labor naturally 39 weeks 3 days, after 26 hours of labor, my son and I started losing oxygen and heart rates started dropping..ended up with an emergency csection
My second pregnancy I had complications the whole pregnancy, put on bed rest before 12 weeks, and kept going into labor at about 6/7 months, spent most of my pregnancy in the hospital and had labor stopped every time up until 36 weeks 4 days, then they took me in for a repeat csection. My doctor felt it was too risky to try again for natural birth. Then my third pregnancy everything was great until the last few weeks, my blood pressure kept going up so I got put on meds, I ended up having regular contractions at 36 weeks but super spaced out, I was scheduled for another csection at 39 weeks 4 days but they ended moving it up to 38 weeks 4 days because my contractions became too close together and it was late enough in the pregnancy to have her.
I was diagnosed January 2017 with factor V Leiden deficiency thrombosis, I have the worse out of the two kinds there are and told id never conceive again and if I did it wouldn’t be a viable pregnancy. I would lose the baby every time. They told me I had to be on a blood thinner for life and I could no longer be on birth control because that is what helped give me the blood clot I got. Well last February I ended up pregnant which ended in a miscarriage. Then last September I conceived this little bundle, it was a big shock to us because I got on a different kind of medicine before I was 6 weeks pregnant which saved my pregnancy and she’s been healthy the whole time! I had a couple minor things Start to go wrong but was told i needed more rest and so that’s what I’ve been doing 😁
This time around I was originally scheduled for a csection at 39 weeks 5 days but because I had to switch medicines again a couple weeks ago and it’s not as safe for me to be on as long as I was the other one and I have a history of going into labor early my dr feels it’s best if I have my csection at 38 weeks 5 days.
So we shall see! I have contractions every week but I get them to stop. I have 19 more days. 😁
@barebon, hahaha oh I can imagine then 😂 but that is a really good point abt pple with health concerns/issues to be seeking out support or just not to feel alone. Good point! And lol thanks for the input, kinda filled in some blanks for me.. bc I was honestly starting to feel like 40weeks + pregnancy was becoming a thing of the past or something.
@joyfulmom2b, my husband is a med student right now. So he comes home and regurgitates all his information to me haha. Way more than I care to know. Sometimes naivety is bliss! He’s working OBGYN right now. It might also be the population that uses this app that have more of a tendency to be induced early as well. People who have more health concerns during pregnancy tend to seek or more social support! Also around 38-39 weeks you usually can get the go on self inducing techniques and with people being over pregnancy at that point they are being a lot less careful to prevent going into labor. I could probably make some other assumptions too, but I will leave it at that 😉!
@barebon, I can most definitely see that, unless it was the best interest for mom and baby to be induced and get it going; I just don’t understand how it seems to be happening earlier and earlier. But I understand how it could get ya feeling down waiting patiently.. ur almost there ☺️
And I had no idea abt that 39 weeks.. ty
@countrymusic_mama, yeah I can see that making way more sense, and that’s what I kinda thought but for so many ladies to be induced around the time just idk seemed odd to me.
And yes! Like are the doctors suggesting it or are they pushing to just have the baby sooner
My first i was 38 weeks and 2 days my second i was exactly 40 weeks and my third i was 37 weeks exactly
39 weeks is the newly researched time frame to induce to get best results. Passed that point it seems like all the risks increase significantly. I think Drs see a lot of terrible things go through their offices and they want to avoid them at all costs.
I’m definitely reaching that point!!! I’m about to stop coming on here because it is thoroughly depressing having girls less far along post labor posts. It definitely seems like a lot of girls are induced and scheduled cesareans.
@joyfulmom2b I know there are some Drs offices that will let you do it between 38-40 weeks. I feel like unless it's a risk to mom/baby it shouldn't be done before that. But I know what you mean I've known people who get induced early for no clear reason
@countrymusic_mama, ty for ur input, and that does make sense. I just see it happening so much around 37-38 on here and I’m honestly just curious why it seems so often
I made it 40 weeks 3 days had set my induction date for 41 weeks but went natural 4 days before my induction date. My Drs office won't induce before 40 weeks unless there is a risk to mom and/or the baby but they started mentioning it around 38 weeks so you could think of when you wanted to schedule it. I don't know how other Drs offices do it.
With my first I wasn't induced until 41 weeks
@joyfulmom2b commenting because id love to know the answer to that as well!! Lol
@quincysmommmmy_, congrats! Ur right there 🙂
@noahsmama, so if u don’t mind me asking why where u induced? I’m just curious bc I see some moms get induced before 40 weeks with no reason why stated and others and begging to be induced 40+ weeks. Is it just the doctors or maybe their bodies not handling it anymore.. lol I’m sorry full of questions tonight
Me, I went to 40 weeks. But, was induced at 40 weeks and 3 days. Had my son 40 weeks and 6 days. Would've gone to 41 if I was never induced.
me I’m 39 weeks , my doctor says I’m going all the way
