Do you think you think you can spot the warning signs in a suicidal person?

I can say from my own experience; nobody knew how depressed I was or the fact that I struggled with suicidal thoughts. I was able to hide it very well and people thought I was always so happy but I wasn’t. I struggled and wavered in silence but I knew if I didn’t reach out or receive help the outcome would be tragic. It’s really hard to know the warning signs because sometimes it seems so normal. Please know that if you knew or know someone who’s committed suicide; it’s not your fault. You can only do so much as a person. Again, I’m absolutely so sorry for your losses. My heart goes out to you all I’m very empathetic. ♥️

They do but since their not major we don't realize it my cousin committed suicide a few days ago and we had no idea until we realized him not leaving the house as much letting his hair grow out when he normally doesn't do that and his facial hair where all signs of depression and suicide

No. Sadly my sons dad /my fiance committed suicide one Oct 18 last year. No signs. Happy all the time. Them he took 100 afib pills of his moms and was gone.

If you notice their behavior changing, them isolating themselves etc then yes, you can see and notice them but if you aren’t paying attention most times it will go unnoticed.

I’ve been there before twice and the first time no one noticed and I was prepared to go through with it. I had a moment before I decided to go forward with my plan that I actually reached out to a friend. The second time; I was having daily thoughts of suicide and was severely depressed. Finally asked for mental health help (it was super hard for me to admit the fact I have a mental health illness and that I needed help beyond what I could give myself) and got therapy and antidepressants. I’m much better now and have not had any negative thoughts for a couple of months now and I’m still taking my antidepressants which have made a remarkable difference in how I feel.

No. I think it would depend on the person and how good they are at hiding things. I am bipolar. By the time I was 15 I had been cutting for a few years. My dad ripped into me one night like he always did about how badly I was making him look with my bad grades and my shitty attitude. So I took off my sweatshirt and I showed him my arms. I told him it was because of him. I didnt care if I succeeded or did well because I was never good enough for him. I told him the only reason he would even be upset if I died would be because he would look bad and would have to pay for my funeral. And I truly believed that. He had no idea. Most people didn't know or understand. Alot of people assumed I was just doing it for attention. Medicine can sometimes make everything worse. It did for me. I had a cousin who wasn't being monitored well by his doctor after his medication was changed. He took his own life. He drove to a park and lined his car & exhaust with towels and just let the car run.

Often times there are warning signs but sometimes people show no warning signs and don’t want help and there’s really nothing anyone can do if they don’t ask for help

it depends sadly the people who end up committing suicide don't often show signs. people who are crying out for help there usually is
