@mariacardnz123, I’m going to grab you some links - might take a few minutes.

If you think your baby is ready and your pedi is saying it’s fine I wouldn’t worry about waiting. My son was ready at 4 months we gave him ground up oatmeal (put it in a food processor) and at 5 months started him on carrots and bananas. I made my own baby food for a while so feel free to message me if you’d like

@laniejay, definitely going to ask next time I go see them or might actually have to see another pedi and see what he says

@mariacardnz123, most pediatricians are not up to date on infant nutrition. I’d ask him or her why they go against the recommendation of their peers and the latest studies.

@flamingomom, @laniejay, @nmarti95, her pedi said it was okay to get her to try some solids since she already has really good head head control and can sit up my herself with little support I haven’t given her anything to try since the pedi said it was okay

None. Because I waited until 6 months and all signs of readiness (sitting up unsupported, loss of tongue thrust, pincher grasp, proper head and neck control, etc) as the AAP and WHO recommend.

Why the rush?

I never pureed solids for my son but the easiest fruits and veggies to start with was apples, pears, bananas and sweet potatoes, and squash
