That reminds me when I gave birth to my youngest 😂 my midwife asked me with disgust “ you’re not going to eat this are you?” Lol I was like no. I asked about if there really truly are benefits to putting it in capsules and every dr has said no. It just makes some feel better and more empowered.

My hair lady did her into pills. I had no clue that was even a thing. She raved at how quickly she recovered, had tons of energy and did not get depression like she did with her first. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I wouldn't do it personally.

Yeah idk bout all that, I don’t think we were created to eat it. Animals have their instinct to do it... we don’t lol at least idk anyone who said “omg look at my placenta let me eat it” lol we were just told it had benefits so everyone all of a sudden wanted it lol

@mommynmotion, yea I’m not doing it lol. I have healed greatly after and had energy. Don’t need to eat it. If some want to then that’s cool but I personally can’t. Especially after my midwife showed it to me

@mommynmotion, exactly! She even said if it was a placebo effect it was worth it for her. It was like $300 to do I think.

I don’t get the “animals do it” argument lol. My dog eats poop and licks his ball sack. Does that mean humans should too? Lol

Only some animals do this. As far as I know human's always buried it. Yes some kept it attached and waited for it to fall off. But unless human's were in alot of danger burying it (like we would do with poop) made more sense.

I'm not sure any good outcomes can come from cooking it down. Again if we were meant to eat it, we would have a desire to do it. Unlike breastfeeding where your body makes the choice for you. Eating the placenta doesn't seem biologically driven.
