How much blood is too much? I’m on my first postpartum period and I also have the Paragard IUD in. I know it’s suppose to make your period heavy, but I completely soaked through a super tampon within 3 hours. I also use a diva cup and within about 6 hours it’s completely full and I start to leak through everything. I just don’t know if this much blood is normal.🤔

I always heard that if you fill a regular sized pad in an hour then you should call your doctor.

I have the coil too and I can bleed through a super tampon in pretty much the same time frame.

My periods are always like this birth control or not, I wouldn’t worry too much until you start filling a pad or tampon within an hour.

It’s normal. Because of my tremendous blood loss I was diagnosed anemic. Periods get better after a couple of months with the IUD. It’s also your first postpartum period so it’s normal to bleed a lot. For me, I get horrible cramps with the Paragard too. I need to use 600 mg ibuprofen. The pain is unbearable.

@yestatipa I've had the IUD for over an year now and I'm still waiting for them to get better 🙄

When i had the iud the bleeding was heavy non stop as you say fill up a pad every 2-3 hours got it removed to many side effects in just couple days
