My sons didn't provide much either but as long as straps are tight like his and the base is reclined all the way then their head shouldn't move around much.

@jmedina thank you! Ill change it back the one that was in it had like not support for her head and it worried me.

Your car seat manual will say it is not to be used. Just wanted to help a new mom out! If she uses it that is totally up to her. "Car seats for the littles" is an awesome Facebook group that has trained carseat technicians if you ever have any questions!

The head insert is fine, I used it and my son is fine.

I'm not sure if anyone has told you but the head insert that didn't come with the carseat is not suppose to be used, you can used rolled receiving blankets on the side instead and have the straps nice and snug. It took me three kids to get the whole carseat thing down!
