@aidenandaustins.mom, I when he does latch make sure he’s getting a deep enough latch sometimes they get frustrated if they aren’t latched on deep enough and they will just fall back asleep. Is he crying at the breast or having trouble latching to the side he is nursing on? Also, I noticed with my last little one he would fall asleep quickly too but eat often every time he was awake.
@aidenandaustins.mom what about a nipple shield? And idk why your nurse suggested not to pump....I figure if you can't get him to latch why not pump and then feed him bottles so he's at least getting breast milk. Also sometimes it just takes a while for baby to get used to it. With my first baby I had to supplement to get her through to where she was comfy with my boob only. If baby gets hungry enough he or she will eat!!

@aidenandaustins.mom they suggest not to pump to give your supply time to regulate but I pumped since day three my son only ate off my right and i couldnt walk around with an engorged boob. Without a pump your best bet is to hand express right now. My son also would fall asleep on the breast he still does it now at 8 months old, try stripping him down and wiping his face and belly with a wet wipe.
@wishing434ever, @newlywedmama21, @mckallalynn..,
I’ve been doing it since day 1. The first couple days were fine. But now it’s like he won’t latch on at all! Then when he does it’s only the left one. He right one is sooo full and hurts so bad. I dont have a pump.. I ordered one it’s should be here within 7-10 days I’m thinking about going to purchase a manual one from target but the nurse suggested not to do the pump, not sure why. THEN when he does latch on within maybe 6/7. min he’s asleep. I stimulate his feet rub his head etc nothing works he get irritated and starts screaming. I leave him alone he goes back to sleep. We are skin to skin. Idk what else to do
It gets a lot easier! I find it easiest at first to just breastfeed on demand. No pumping or bottles, that takes some stress off.

It is really hard! But it's so rewarding, and always remember if you can't do it and give up its ok. My son has been breastfed since day 1 and i cant tell you how many times I've wanted to quit. It just takes time and patience ❤️
