So got a call from our kids school today, and at recess apparently another boy “exposed himself” to Draidon (7) The principle called us to set up an appointment for tomorrow to discuss the incident as our son went and told a supervisor, and expressed he felt uncomfortable along with others. The principal on the phone kept telling us oh you know this little boy lives out on an acreage...and he’s used to being outside. I’m missing how a boy exposing himself to a child at school has anything to do with living on a farm? He wasn’t peeing outside he was just flashing my son and others..what do ya’ll think? This boy has been known to cause problems and is a bit of a bully also, and has picked on our younger daughter.

I'm wondering if Child Services has gotten involved as this is a red flag. An appointment to discuss the incident is necessary, but so is making sure that the child who exposed himself sees someone about his behaviour and what it potentially stems from.
Don't be afraid to ask about this. I'm not saying this to minimize the behaviour he's displayed towards your kids as it's wholly inappropriate,so I hope you don't take it that way.

@deborahjq, To be honest I’m not sure, because to my knowledge they will only contact Family Services if there’s abuse or neglect suspected (we have the same protocols at the hospital) I do know he struggles with ADHD as he came to my sons birthday party in kindergarten and his mom warned us he’s a bit out of hand. In my opinion the principal has minimized it due to his “needs”, but as a parent of a child with special needs also I’d never use that to minimize the behaviour..I’d want to deal with it accordingly you know? I also can’t help but think his parents aren’t discussing with him appropriate topics about your private areas and exposing them. We of course teach our own kids the do’s and donts, as with having two grandmas we’ve always tried to remain open and honest with them about all these types of things because questions came early on. Thanks for your input hun I’m at a loss on what to think of the whole experience and how to approach it. The principal was even somewhat laughing on the phone 🤨

@beakymcspence the principal obviously isn't taking this seriously of he was somewhat laughing on the phone. Definitely makes me doubt that it'll be dealt with accordingly. I really hope that the appointment you go to addresses the behaviour seriously so that something is done about it. I'd be so uncomfortable sending my kids to school with a kid who's not only a bully, but who exposes himself while the principal shrugs it off.

@deborahjq, Yeah my husband said the same thing, we phoned and spoke to someone at the school board this evening and they seemed quite concerned at the approach the principal took. I’m hoping we have more luck with them, as I don’t think the principal is going to deal with it accordingly either.
