I will love my babies no matter what and normally I wouldn't want to find out but since I'm having twins and I will have a 2 year old as well we need to be prepared on how we will take care of all of them. Thanks ladies

I asked the doctor if it could clear up on its own and she said normally it doesn't. And she's pretty concerned about it. But maybe she's saying it because there is a possibility and getting me ready for it. I don't want to think it's going to happen but I don't want to think it's not going to happen. Hopefully I can do some blood test today or tomorrow. I'll find more out in a couple hours

I wouldn't stress over it my sister was told my nephew was gunna have Down syndrome an he came out with no Down syndrome an healthy. An she stressed her whole pregnancy getting ready for a baby with downs an support groups

Doctors have to go with worse case scenario just incase. A girlfriend of mine was told her son would have down syndrome. He was born last Jan an is absolutely perfect. She is very happy she listened to her own body & not the doc

Did they do blood work as well? So many times they think something is wrong and its not. Try to be strong and I'm sure everything will be ok

I agree with Stacey - Drs sometimes don't know how heavy their words fall or just how far we read into their every word, breath, & movement!

There are so many false positives, so have faith and try your best yo focus on how you are feeling. If you feel good, your intuition will be good. good luck, keep us posted ?

as Dr's they have to let u know of anything that "might" be wrong to cover their butts (God forbid there is something wrong) but doesn't necessarily mean there is 100% something wrong, i too have read about it and a lot of cases it clears and babies are 100% fine, Congratulations on identicals! I pray everything turns out well!

I went through this my last pregnancy. I was sent to a specialist. She did another ultrasound and said that everything looked ok. My son is fine. I remember how scary it was. Good luck!

Doctors seem to be overly cautious which freaks us out. It's their job to inform but some of them have no bedside manner. I went thru a similar nightmare and was sent to a specialist and it turned out my baby is perfect. Please try not to worry. I know it's hard. Darn doctors. Best of luck.

There's been several other posts on bb with lots of replies from ladies saying that the lining was found on their babies but later it's disappeared or they've been born fine with nothing wrong.

If there's a history of downs in your family then it would be concerning, otherwise your Dr is possibly over-reacting. They had me meet with a genetic counselor/dr first just to find out family history and to explain about it first and that it doesn't necessarily mean there is downs it just means they have to test further, next would probably be blood and if that indicates downs then they'd do an amniocentesis(spelled wrong).

Why does my doctor say she's very concerned about it?

The thick lining is just an indicator there could be downs, most times it clears up and baby's fine.
