Routine
Do you have a daily/weekly routine for cleaning? Or just wing it and do what needs to be done at the time?
Oh boy, some of you ladies put me to shame.
I've lived in my house just on 2 years and I have NEVER cleaned the Windows.
Mind you we've been renovating since we moved in and we have a 17 month old and I'm 27 weeks pregnant (all excuses, I know!) so the house is always dusty, there's always power tools laying around, building equipment and building materials.
The clothes washing gets done probably 5 times a week, vacuuming gets done probably weekly or if there's a big spill, the floor gets spot cleaned every meal time (5 times a day) around the high chair
The bathroom gets cleaned when it's almost at the point of too dirty, but I give the toilet a quick going over every couple of days if it needs it
I hate cleaning and have a huge house, I can't wait to get a cleaner but it's just not practical while we're renovating to expect someone else to come in and clean:(
I just started a mini routine..we live in a 2bdrm unit & I'm 32wks preg with my 1st so no doubt this will change.
*Dishes and wipe down kitchen daily.
*Sweep floors every other day.
*Pickup and declutter every other day.
*Mop & Vac once a week.
*Bathroom & toilet once a week.
*Laundry as its needed (usually small load daily as DF is a truckie then a couple on weekend. About to step up as have to do all my baby stuff and MCNs)
*Bedsheets fortnightly.
*Wash dog fortnightly.
*Lawns fortnightly (that's DFs job and it's just a small grassed courtyard)
Think that's about it
ETA: we just moved 2mths ago and I used to always drown in housework too. I would cry coz there was no cutlery cpz I just loathed doing the dishes. So when we moved I threw out ALL our odd plates and cups and mugs and the tons of cutlery we had. I bought a 6pce set from Kmart $50. Now the most knives and forks PR plates or glasses I have to wash is 6!! And they're funky plates and bowls and mugs.
I hate cleaning and it always seems to pile up before I do anything about it. I really do need a routine but feel so tired after work each day. Living in a rural area with lots of dirt, I feel like there is dust everywhere, no matter how much I clean! But it's a small house so it's not too bad.
I'm still waiting for Lacey to send me hers hahaha ?
My housework day is Friday which is shower, toilet and floors scrubbed, detail clean and vacuum and mop. All towels washed that day too.
Through the week the house gets a general tidy every night when the boys are winding down or in bed and a vacuum after dinner.
I've found doing this has kept my head above water and I have a 'yes I have kids' house not a 'animals live here' house haha
Haha pp^ I done that also!! He learnt pretty bloody quick to do up his zips & button up & put them in the basket or they didn't get washed ?
