Yeah sounds normal. My son is the happiest smiley-ish friendliest child, but only if I'm holding him all day, even for naps! He is so sweet but it can be draining. He just turned 1. He is also crazy adventurous

I have a walker for Oscar, it's good for about 10 minutes then he gets cranky cause he doesn't want to be in it anymore ?

I'm thinking of getting him a walker so he can stand up right and eventually chase after his sister because he gets so upset and she walks off from him lol
