Hardest Week Ever...Best News Ever ??
omgee...i have been going through the last 7 days...ok so settle in for the story lol...I had my first prenatal visit last Wednesday...everything went smooth and perfect...zero issues but by Thursday, everything went horribly wrong...I developed a pain inside of my mouth and throat that became so unbearable that i had to make a late night trip to the emergency room. Once there, I was told that I had a viral infection that consisted of a canker sore/mouth ulcer & swollen lymph nodes in my throat...I could barely open my mouth to talk and I couldn't manage to get any solid foods through the small gap I could form...let alone chew the food if it could fit...the Drs at the er informed me that they would not be able to treat me until the results of my lab testings came back to say what type of viral infection I had...(they went so far as to suggest that I may have herpes) i was like nooo thank you...i do NOT have that...there is no way but they insisted...they told me i would have results back by Oct. 4th and cleared me of having strep throat and the flu...suggested that in the mean time I just take tylenol to get through the pains. So I went home so confused and halfway upset...it was 2am...my mouth was pounding and I had just been told that I could possibly have an STD but had been diagnosed w/ canker sores of the mouth. So fast forward to Friday...I was miserable...I could no longer eat AT ALL i couldn't function..I couldn't sleep through the pain nothing...I recently moved about an hour away from my family so I was really feeling the pain...I called my mom and of course she came to the rescue w/ meds and plenty more...including teas and other little remedies we could find on google until the results came back...all weekend things got worse and worse I was basically popping tylenols every 2-3 hours...taking my prenatals and swigging robitussin in between while using antiseptics to numb my mouth and chamomile teas w/ honey, lemons, and cough drops regularly...my fiance was blending banana milkshakes for me and cooking chicken broth for me to be able to eat SOMETHING...none of the medicines helped long term...still no eating or talking or functioning...barely sleeping...lots of crying..it was downright MISERABLE... by Monday i was losing it...on top of knowing my main intake was medicine w/out food...I became concerned because I could no longer feel movement from the baby...I went from weighing 147 lbs to weighing 135lbs in a matter of 5 to 6 days...I didn't know if the medicines were hurting the baby...tried to set at appointment w/ my OBGYN...but because the infection had began in my mouth they wouldn't allow me to come in and said there was nothing they could do I told them about the decreased fetal movement and they still did nothing....basically told me to stick to the medicine and force myself to eat through that excruciating pain...i was so hurt and broken and let down...the pain was too muuuuch...finally Tuesday came and i was just like a walking zombie i had began to do oral rinses w/ an orajel mouth wash that seemed to help the pain a little but never any permanent relief...finally gave up and went to the ER again last night but this time when they checked me out they diagnosed me as having a TOOTH INFECTION...nothing more nothing less it was causing the swollen lymph nodes and the locked jaw basically...I was so relieved to be cleared of the whole herpes scandal...i knew there was no way that could have been true...she told me that they probably assumed that because at the time i presented myself w/ the infection it may not have been as bad as it is now for them to be able to tell.. so i was placed on an IV and I told them about the decreased fetal movement...they found baby's heartbeat but still ordered a sonogram to check on baby...during my sonogram the woman asked if i knew the gender of my child and i said no...and that i had originally decided not to know...but over this last week dealing w/ all the pain and stress of not knowing if the baby was ok I had changed my mind and wanted to know what it was....so finally here's the good part of the story...i was correctly diagnosed so i was treated w/ antibiotics....and i am a proud preggo mother to a beautiful...healthy baby....GIRL. Miss Aiyla Belle! i am completely thrilled to know that in just two days I will began feeling better but also that I am carrying yet another princess!! over all this has been the most trying week i have ever experienced...i am on my way to recovery as of now...got my first night of complete sleep!! and everything is A-Ok now....cant wait til i can eat again though lol...baby steps!!
