Has Your 20-Week Ultrasound Shown a Dangling Choroid?

I just had the follow up ultrasound and the dr said everything looks as it should. Measurements are now 8mm and the choroid is not dangling anymore!! Thank you again for being so helpful you really calmed my nerves xx

You're welcome! My little guy had a spot on his heart and after weeks of testing (and sleepless nights) all turned out completely normal. There are so many things that can trigger further testing but it usually is all ok. Keep us posted :-). Hugs!!

I think the think the ventricles can be 10mm and still be normal. It all goes together... In MANY cases they tend to over diagnose the dangling choroid and ventriculomegaly /hydrocephalus and all is really fine. Try to relax until your next ultrasound (I know that's impossible) there is a great chance that they were just over cautious with the dangling choroid (and the ventricle measurement is actually normal). It drives us crazy with all the little things they see but usually ends up fine :-). On the other hand, if it is something (small chance) they will be prepared. It's a great sign that your 1st tri screening was all normal too. Hang in there mama!! :-)

They noted that the ventricles were on the upper limits of normal at 9mm. Everything else was normal. Do you know if it's really bad? I'm terrified and my 2nd ultrasound isn't for another 2 days.

No.. Choroid plexus cysts are different than dangling choroids. The choroid dangles due to enlarged ventricles or "hydrocephalus" which can be caused by different things. Was everything else normal? I hope it all turns out ok for your little one.. Sometimes its just a funny angle on ultrasound too.. Hugs!!

my lil one have five very large choroid plexus cyst .

i went forr the amino ; and my bby is 100% healthy .

like pp said if they didnt see any more markers or abnormalties you l.o should be fine .

btw : personaly i only got the amino because i had to knoe about my lo's health .

but most me kept telling myself that it wasnt needed and my lo was going to be fine .

my 20 week ultrasound showed a choroid cyst and they referred me to specialist as well. went in the very next day and they didn't see a cyst at all. without other markers your baby will likely be perfectly healthy. continue to be happy, pray for the best. good luck, let us know how it goes
