I had the same problem with my twins. When the head grows quicker than the tummy it's an indication that the placenta is starting to age/ fail. The doctors tried to get me to 36 weeks but when I also got preeclampsia the boys had to come out earlier.

They were born 2055g and 2125g and perfectly healthy. They stayed in the 5th and 10th percentile until they were 4 months old and are now catching up being 15th and 35th percentile.

I had this with my daughter, her tummy was measuring in the 2nd percentile. I was having weekly ultrasounds and check ups every second day. At 38 weeks they decided to induce me. I had the nicu doctors with me in the delivery room because she measuring so small. She came out very strong and healthy, weighing 6lb (they thought she'd be 4lb) I took her home the next day.

With both my kids i measured small, ds came out a healthy size but dd was much smaller born at 37 weeks

I was told all throughout my pregnancy that my LO was small-measuring 3-4 weeks behind and that she looked like she had a disproportionate head! I was so panicked but she came out at 8lbs2.5oz and her head was absolutely perfect :) I think sometimes the scans are just not totally accurate. I hope everything goes well for you xx

Everything looked good on my scan too, apart from the growth & my dd was the picture of health at birth so try not to worry, it may just be how nature intends ? at least your full term now anyway, good luck x

I ended up getting monitored for 2 hours and having lots of bloods taken. They don't know why bub is so small as everything looks good but bub is still happy in there so I have to go in for regular monitoring and they did mention possibly inducing next week if bub hasn't arrived on it's own. Trying to stay calm about it all but I am a little worried ?

This happened with my youngest ds. There was no growth from 35 weeks so I was induced at 38 weeks. He was small (5lb) but healthy.

This happened to me. My baby seemed to just stop growing around 33 weeks and had fallen below the 3rd percentile. I ended up being induced as soon as it was picked up at 37 weeks! (My fundal height was 32cm at 37 weeks which is why i was sent for a growth scan) They called it IUGR and don't know why it happened as the placenta looked healthy on inspection and thankfully my baby was perfect, just small x

You will most likely be induced.

I would say it has something todo with the placenta ageing to quick, and they might want to take bubs out sooner than your expecting! Try not to stress tho :)

I haven't been in this position but I would say that at 37+3 they will likely want baby out so be prepared for that. Sometimes the placenta doesn't function as well as it should towards the end and baby is better off out than in. Try not to worry. It sounds like you're in good hands.
