Breastfeeding without a cover

I basically have avoided the outside world bc of fear of having to bf in public. Baby has latching issues and a cover just does not work for us. Tomorrow I need to go to my son's school (special needs school that is really far away) and do an education training session. She will not take bottles and the drive is far so I know she will want to eat when we get there. What are your thoughts about bf'ing w/o a cover? Any anecdotes? I don't mind bf'ing in front of people but I'm scared of people's reactions.

Ask if they have a room you could nurse in. Plan on getting there early and give yourself time to nurse before your training.

Go got it! I cover myself while I get myself ready but when I pick her up I uncover because she is the same way and will have nothing to do with a cover. Just relax like people said because the less fuss you make the less people will even notice.

Just do it.
If people don't like it they can walk away or take a break.
Basically I wouldn't tell them they couldn't drink or eat if they wanted to. So my baby deserves the same respect. He is hungry so I will feed him.

I've only seen people react negatively to me feeding without a cover twice. I just ignored them - it's their problem, not yours. Neither of them had the courage to actually say something to me.

The only time a stranger has spoken to me about publicly breastfeeding without a cover was when an older woman came up to me and said "I just want you to know that I think it's great that you are feeding your baby out in public like this".

So it might not be as bad as you're imagining it to be. In all likelihood, people will not pay attention.

Jus do it! The less I worried the less people noticed, I swear. Or I'd get there early and nurse in the car before going in.
