tips for increasing my milk
Hi ladies... does anyone have some tips for me to increase my milk supply. I have been sick since monday with a stomach virus and have lost 4kg since monday and I feel my supply is getting low. I finally feel like I could eat today or at least try. Are there certain foods I can eat to help or anything I can do. My son is only 4 1/2 months and I will b devastated if I lose my milk. Please help with any tips and advice. Thanks in advance xxx
If it comes to it you could maybe ask your GP for a script for Motillium. I had to use it due to my girls being in the NICU for so long, not being with them made it hard to pump enough milk for two. It worked great for me, although with any meds, they may not be suited to everyone. Good luck, and try not to put too much pressure on yourself. :)
Lol ztinky yeah their name turns you off a little. Ill definitely start with the porridge and im going to look up the tea now, sounds great. I have a pump so I will definitely try that too. Thank you all so much for your help
I have seen some of you ladies making the lactation cookies. Ill definitely make a batch today. Thank you
Drink lots of water, have lots of skin to skin with your son and just put him on the boob as much as you can, try brewers yeast, oats and fenugreek. You could also try pumping after each of your sons feeds, but really he will be most efficient at building your supply back up so if he's willing to suck latch him on as much as possible.
Hey hope you're feeling better now! The best thing you can do is breastfeed on demand, bub's suckling will bring your supply back. Aside from drinking plenty of fluids, you don't need to anything else. Nature designed our babies to regulate our milk supply for us. As long as bub is having plenty of wet nappies, you're making enough milk xox
