Quick to induce for no reason!

Quick to induce for no reason!

My pregnancy has been going fine and my doctor is pressuring me to pick a birthday for my baby. I got induced with my last baby for medical reasons, but I do not want to get induced again. Anyone else's doctor trying to induce for no reason?

My doctor is doing the same. Yes, they do induce for no reason. My doctor literally admitted that it's for a convenience of scheduling factor. I said no. Just say no... they can't force you.

I'm having hard time believing that your doctor would risk liability and offer to induce you for NO REASON. There must be something in your health history and, unless he discussed this already with you, it is up to you to ask questions "why" and "what for".

If iam not wrong i think some doctors get more $$$ when they induce thats why they pressure tou to do it even if its not medically necessary

Mine always asks if I want to be induced and when I decline he has never once pushed it. I'm in the US. Baby #4 due 12/31 and I've never had an induction.

Yes I'm in the US. I was 41 weeks when I got induced for medical reasons the last time. It's only 2 OBs in my town so that's probably why they like to induce everyone but I'm glad he can't make me get it done.

Not all dr are quick to induce, even with medical reasons.. I have gestational diabetes, have had 3 out of 4 pregnancy. My first time with it, my son was born over 10lbs and his shoulder got stuck, this time around I'm on insulin and that's not even helping control my sugar level. My last dr refused to induce me, I picked another dr this time around and she won't induce either.

I think when a dr is quick to induce there doing it for themselves, it's more convenient for them to have a planned set date.

I would totally be tempted to pick Feb 1st just be a smarty pants ? lol ... its your choice unless its an emergency of course the doc can pressure all he likes but its still what YOU want.

I can't believe how many doctors do this. I wouldn't give in. I remember with my first, my doctor would only induce if it was medically necessary or I went past 41 or 42 weeks. I would pick a date that would put you at 41 weeks lol

I'm guessing you're in the US? I would totally avoid an induction unless indicated medically.. I would pick a date past your due date that you would feel comfortable with and with any luck you will labour before then? X

My doctor said he would induce my labor at 38 weeks, if my baby girl still had growth issues and if the percentile dropped to 10 or less. Last thursday, it was 10 percentile, and he said if she didn't come on her own by 38 weeks, he would induce labor at that time. I'm 36 weeks 1 day today, he said my cervix was super thin, and 1cm dilated. Is there a possibility this can change... that my doctor will let her just come on her own? I don't want to be induced, i would much rather her come on her own when she is ready to come ! As much as I am anxious to meet her and have her home with me, those last few weeks of brain development and lung maturation means so much more to me! I'm hoping and praying that things turn around, and I don't have to get induced. I'm surely going to talk to my doctor about it Thursday when I go back.
