I did IVF a while working full time. It is not as challenging as it seems once you get into it, but I can see where it can be! There are a lot of appointments, but in reality it only lasts for about 2 weeks or so. The most challenging part was taking a day off for retrieval and implantation and not knowing ahead of time when those will be. I planned all my ultrasounds in the AM and was barely late to work. We did have some challenges with timing of shots because hubby and I weren't together or something, but we made it work.
Does your new boss know that you are doing ivf, I worked full time but had to fill out fmla paperwork to make sure I didn't have to many occurrences that could jeopardize my job and I've been ther 2.5 years. I also work third shift. There were days that I was at the clinic for 2 hours waiting for my Bloodwork and ultrasound and I had to go everyday at the end so depending on your boss it might be to much time off.
Well for me my boss was understanding of finding me coverage on days I had apt. but when it came for me to do training for my second job that's were the problem came cause I had to try to make up day for both job not knowing doing the last part of ivf it was going to be a lot of days back to back apt as I got done everything I did get pregnant first time currently having twins but now I develop a blood clot witch now required me to be on bed rest almost two weeks now an my job is now fed up an I think replacement is coming because all the time being miss an I'm going have to find another job witch going be hard because job going be scared to hire me because they going know I'm pregnant so yes it is tuff hopefully your new job is very understanding cause ivf you never know what to expected an what you are going to go through the process an how the out come will be good luck?
Thank you all so much! I received my IVF calander and am really going to try and make this work. My new boss knows what I am going through because I told her after the interview when I accepted the job offer. I hope that I am not crazy for this one but we will see:) Thanks again!
