Hi! It was scary for me because I had never had surgery of any kind. After breastfeeding 4 babies my boobs were a mess so I went ahead when my youngest was 1.5 and had them done and I absolutely love them. I'm worried now about how they will survive this pregnancy and if I will have complications with them after, but overall I was very happy with the outcome. Recovery wasn't bad but my advice is to wait until your youngest can walk up and downstairs and doesn't need to be lifted out of a crib or even not lifted up much at all. I felt bad I could pick up my daughter for a bit but other than that I was back working out by 8 wks and would do it again! Best thing I ever did for myself but wondering if I'm going to need a redo after this baby comes and feel a bit guilty about not bf:( but good luck and I'm always here to answer any questions u have❤️

To the pp. Just to clarify.....formula is by no means even close to being as good as breastmilk. The marketing companies do a great job making people think that it is. But the truth is that scientists haven't even been able to identify all of the components that are in breastmilk....which means that they obviously cannot try to duplicate it. Also, breastmilk contains over 700 "good bacteria" which are live and active which boosts the baby's immune system among many other things. Also, breastmilk when observed under a microscope, kills cancer cells on contact. Far cry from what formula has to offer. I'm not trying to be snooty, I just know the facts because I am a certified lactation counselor and have had hundreds of hours of training and education on breastmilk/breastfeeding. I was formula fed and I did a combination of breastfeeding and formula with my first three kids (i had to with my 3rd bc i lost my supply due to a new pregnancy) so like please understand that I know both sides. I do believe that every woman should be supported in whatever decision that she makes....however I feel that everyone should be properly educated on the extreme difference between breastmilk and formula. If I had known what I know now when my first 2 kids were babies I would have done everything in my power to avoid formula. I strongly encourage everyone to read the book "The Politics of Breastfeeding" ....your mind will be blown with the facts in that book. Deciding whether to feed your baby breastmilk or formula is quite possibly the most important decision that you will ever make in their life. Health benefits of breastfeeding extend far past juvenile development and last a lifetime.

Not exactly the advice she was requesting. I'm sure we all understand that breastmilk is better. It would be nice if people would stop bullying mothers into breastfeeding and throwing information at us as though we don't understand the difference between breastmilk and formula. A lot of us have struggled to continue breastfeeding. Lactation consultants have been the worst to me in the past. I have only met one that was supportive of me when I almost quit breastfeeding for my own sanity.

Breastfeeding doesn't work for everyone for a lot of different reasons. They make the stuff in a can for a reason.

Luvmypac.... I've struggled to breastfeed for 5 months. Kudos to you for going as long as you have. I almost had to quit when my dd was 8 weeks old. Sometimes I wish I had never started breastfeeding. I was glued to my pump for months trying to beef up supply and I missed a lot of things with my kid. It caused me a lot of depression. Sometimes your wellbeing and presence is better than all the breastfeeding in the world. Let us know about updated boob job. I'm curious to know what you decide to do. I've thought about getting a lift myself. Not an implant. I'm not brace enough for that.

Thanks cheekymae and I will def let u know the outcome:) I do understand all the benefits of breastmilk as I said I have breast 4 children but this time will be different due to the implants I think the risks of complications to me (mastitis and capsular contracture) and baby (if there was a possible leak in one of the implants would the silicone excrete to the breastmilk) will lead me to choose formula this time. I feel very guilty for this choice but I think and hope it's the right choice this time. I also believe in supporting moms no matter what they chose to do but as cheekymae said breastfeeding can be a real struggle especially when you have many other children:)
