Mastitis

What were your symptoms? Was your boob unbearably sore or did it just feel engorged? Mine's the latter but I'm also running a fever, body aches and chills.

It's certainly sore but not that sore.

super sore, hurt to move my arm away from my side. Temp of 105, and passed out from fever. Then went to er and found out it was mastitis. Pain was probably an 8 and this was only 3 or 4 weeks after delivering a baby.

At first my breast was really sore and I felt like I had the flu. Developed a fever, and then a huge red patch where the pain was.

Ugh ? it was like hell for me, I only had it once. It felt like the flu, but condensed down into 24 hours. I took Motrin and rested, applied a warm compress on and off, fed the baby on demand and just tried not to feel awful. My mom happened to be visiting so she helped me a ton with the baby. I didn't call my dr because it got gradually better over 12 hours (and was gone in another 12 except for exhaustion). If you feel your temp increasing anymore than I would call. God bless ya momma!

Do I call my OB or my PCP? I don't know the protocol. ? My boobs are sore, but not ridiculously sore. They are hot to the touch but not red. My body may be hot everywhere though because I'm curled up in 27 blankets. It also doesn't hurt to nurse.

Flu like symptoms, fever, red breast sore to the touch. Definitely call your doctor for 9r antibiotics right away. Also be sure to keep emptying the breast, either by nursing or pumping.
