This is DH's and my conversation about him getting a vasectomy. ??
Our VR didn't work, so it's not necessarily a procedure I'm happy with...
I'm divorced and reconnected with my high school sweetheart. He was married and they had children, but his wife's health was deteriorating, so a vasectomy was a great choice for them. Fast forward and 2 months after the procedure and she passed away ???
We're very happy with the children we do have, but would have given anything for a child together. He spent around $200 for the vasectomy, we've spent $15,000 trying to get it reversed ?
He ended up building antibodies and developing a spermocele, so it's not happening for us. Even if we spent the $$$ to do ANOTHER surgery to remove the spermocele, we're still stuck with antibodies.
Just make sure it's something you really, really want under any circumstances. A lot of people think it's easy to reverse, but statically it's a permanent surgery and reversal rarely works.
He's home now and told me he's sleeping with one eye open from now on.... and wearing a cup for protection. ?
My husband too, Jack! But unfortunately, his plan Year renewed in 1/1 - so he has 12 long months to put it off if that was his incentive.
I had two c-sections, and DH had the vasectomy. He did cancel and reschedule once to go deer hunting, but he HAD to get it done this year since we had my delivery on our insurance in February. We already hit our deductible, so it was cheap. He only understands saving money...?
Hahah I threatened my OH with doing it in his sleep too. A little background we have 3 children and 2 angel babies. I had essure done after 3rd baby 4th pregnancy. It didn't work and ended up pregnant and having another miscarriage. So a few month later I had and IUD which is awful and I am having removed later this month. I am not doing anything else to prevent pregnancy. So I hope he gets snipped before we go away on our cruise with out our kids. Because of he doesn't feel have a feeling we will get pregnant again!
My husband got it done a few months ago. He was freaking out about it that whole week and it was pretty hilarious. But he's 100% certain he didn't want any more kids and he didn't want me to have to go through another procedure. Plus it's less risk for him. After the procedure he definitely milked it, claiming how sore he was...but he's fine.
My friend has been trying to convince her husband as well. He's not going for it.
My husband had a vasectomy during his first marriage and he said it's SO much easier than he ever expected it to be. Both of my brother in laws had theirs too and say it was way less painful then they were worked up for.
Side note: when my husband went to get his vasectomy reversed, he expected it to be a piece of cake like the vasectomy was. Now THAT was painful... I don't think he would have done it if he wasn't so sure it would be easy like the first one! Lol
He only ever wanted two... ADAMANTLY. He gave in when I wanted a third. We accidentally got pregnant with our fourth, whom we lost. Then we had our rainbow. A few days before I had him, I was saying how crazy it was that these were my last few days pregnant EVER and how bittersweet it was. He said "well, you never know. We could end up having another."
Who is this man???
The problem for me is my body doesn't react well to BC at all - like horror health stories resulted from the last time I was on it. I'm allergic to condoms and get terrible UTI's from them - so also not an option.
We've used natural family planning for years, which only resulted in one unplanned pregnancy - but I was still nursing so my cycles were off - making it harder to track.
We've got to do something and our options are limited....
I had a coworker who's husband was like this (she's had three kids naturally). She finally told him absolutely no sex until the appointment was made. Let's just say it didn't take too terribly long for him to realize how serious she was and he mad the appointment.
If I wasn't having a csection for our third/last, I told my husband he would be the one getting cut, but since I'm laid open down there anyway, they might as well take my tubes out. My husband agreed and I have full confidence he would have followed through.
@reanna how did u get pregnant with the essure? Was it before the 3mth checked up? I had mine done in April and had my recheck X-ray in July. My tubes are totally sealed so there's no way I can get pregnant
