So aggravated!!

I'm 3 weeks pp and my blood pressure is still elevated! It stayed elevated for the first two weeks, then last week - it went down to a pretty normal range so I thought, "Great, maybe things are finally going back to normal!"

I definitely will if it happens again. I just had no way to get there last night aside from an ambulance, which if it hadn't gone back down like it did, I would have certainly called 911.

I was in L&D 5 times this pregnancy for high BP before they decided to induce. I've been having issues with it since I was 24 weeks pregnant - I'm just over it.

Hopefully things stay status quo today and the doctor can see me tomorrow.

I had a perfectly wonderful pregnancy (for the most part) but birth and postpartum were a nightmare. I had high blood pressure for a full 6 weeks after birth (plus horrible water retention). If my daughter wasn't jaundiced my c-section recovery and various symptoms would have been the reason I was kept in the hospital. (Stayed a full 6 days).

I would keep a close eye on it and go to urgent care or ER if it continues to spike. A friend of mine (met on BB) had a stroke post partum. I would not mess around with high BP.

I suggest you go in if it goes up again. I have had 2 of my close friends hospitalized for a week around 2 weeks pp for their blood pressure. It is a very dangerous situation.

No, I'm not on any medication right now. After birth, my BP went down while in the hospital (probably because they only took it while I was laying down).

They just said to monitor it at home. I didn't call just because it was high because I wasn't really having any other symptoms. I have had some killer migraines that have lasted 1-2 days but it was always on the weekends, when I couldn't call.

Towards the end of my pregnancy I developed high blood pressure and was going to be induced. (But baby came early on his own)

I was put on a medication for about 2 months after delivery until my body went back to normal.

My BP skyrocketed pp also. I also had horrid swelling in my legs and feet. Definitely get a hold of your doctor or go to urgent care or ER. I was scared too. It's important to be seen just to be safe. Hope you feel better soon!

Yes my bp stayed elevated for months after I had pre eclampsia. Took a few hospital trips to get me the right dose of medication to bring it to stable. But still then it was a little high. I still have issues with it now. Have they put you on meds?

When I was induced at 37 weeks due to growth restriction, my protein levels were just shy of a pre-eclampsia diagnosis. Had I carried longer I'd likely have developed it. After delivering, my bp went through the roof (was already high before delivery but it went nuts after). They gave it a little time to settle but put me on labetalol before I left the hospital. I did a 30 day course and was back to normal.

If I were you, I'd definitely go for the meds. HTN is so rough on your body. Ask about doing a temporary course of meds and then coming in for a check.
