I won't lie and say it was easy, because it wasn't. I scored some free pallets. Disassembled those with a sawzall, then reconstructed it into the sign.

Then I used my Cameo to cut the map out on vinyl to create a stencil. This sign is large (40"x28") so it was difficult getting it all laid out. Then I painted using the stencil. To ensure the paint didn't bleed under the vinyl, I used a sponge and lightly dabbed the paint on. Too much paint would make the crisp lines run.

Words and I second the heart idea. But I would also outline the words in whatever color you put the heart in.

I might skip the words and instead paint Nicaragua with a silver or gold color. Subtler, but with meaning.
