L&D Nurse. Opinions please!
L&D Nurse. Opinions please!
I'm back in L&D. They sent me here from my doc appt due to elevated BP and a headache. When I got here, my nurse is one of the nurses I had when Enoch was born. She's just the sweetest! She remembered me and asked how I was doing.

I would!! It's sweet not awkward :) I had a nurse named Barbie when I had my second baby. She was the sweetest and helped me with everything and even got us some extra diapers and formula before we left. Reminded me of my grandma and I told her that before we left! She was an angel :)

I would tell her for sure! It's not awkward. I bet it'll make her very happy ❤️

This made me tear up. Tell her. I'm sure you letting her know how she touched you in a positive and loving way during one of the darkest and most difficult times of your life will mean a lot to her. ?

If you feel like you may cry I would suggest a heartfelt thank you card! She may cry also!
She sounds like such a sweet lady

Tell her. I think the suggestion of a note or card is a great idea if you don't think you can get the words out face to face.

If I were in your situation I would totally do it! That nurse might have not realized how much it truly meant to you. If you tell her, even in just a card or something that might help give her the confidence to keep treating everyone in a similar situation to you like that. Some times people think their efforts go unnoticed and don't think there's a point to continue. Even if she doesn't feel that way, it would still be a great thing to do. ☺️

I told her and I bawled like a baby the entire time! ?
She gave me the biggest hug and said she was so glad I told her. She said she thinks about us all of the time and asked about my husband and kids by name (so she obviously did remember us)!
She said she saw that I was in on Friday and wanted to stop in and say hi but she didn't know if I wanted to see her. She said she didn't think we'd ever be back, that we wouldn't want to have anymore after Enoch but she was so glad we were here, having another little boy and that she hopes she's here when I give birth to this one. ☺️
Thanks ladies! I'm so glad I told her.

See it's the little things that make someone so happy! I am so glad you told her! Those nurses go through a lot and I am sure they sometimes feel like they don't get enough appreciation!

Yeah, I'm definitely glad I said something. ☺️

Well, they let me go! I have two more appointments next week. I'm on pre-eclampsia watch and have been diagnosed with pregnancy-induced hypertension.
The nurse gave me a big hug when I left and said she hopes she doesn't see me back for at least 5 weeks! ☺️

Thank you! Me too!
