Major rant!! ??? I've been fighting with insurance for 6 months over a denied claim and a $1K bill…

PS - I'm happy I only had to pay $250, so that's definitely a rave. Just the whole situation has been super frustrating.

At least you have it figured out. I've been fighting with insurance about my iud being covered, which they told me it was. It is very frustrating.

It took us a year to get my sons NICU bills figured out. It can be a mess.

It's awesome you only had to pay $250, but seriously keep fighting it! I work in a dental office and fight with insurance companies all day. They record all their phone calls.

I had someone give me wrong information once and after fighting with them and listening to recorded call, they honoured it and paid it.

Yeah - it's crazy! When they offered me the same test this pregnancy, I denied it because I didn't want another huge bill. The doctor said "oh, we have an agreement now where it will only cost the patient $99 no matter what." That was in June of this year.

So 9 months essentially meant the difference of $900!

I am appealing and they said they will pull the call logs and listen to the conversation. Hopefully, I win and get my money back!

ALL medical bills you get are negotiable. My aunt worked in the field for her whole life and always told me to never just pay a bill, call and negotiate. I usually only end up paying 10-20 cents on the dollar amount owed. Most places just want to be paid something not the whole price.

Yeah, someone told me that recently but I didn't think they'd discount it 75%!
