My world stopped
I was changing the laundry over and my husband went to use the restroom. Our 20 month was in the room with our 10 year old and climbed up on the bed and fell, face first, landing on her head. Our bed is three feet off the ground and our son said she was standing up, so roughly a five foot fall. I ran into the room and she was unresponsive. She didn't take her first breath for 45 seconds. Her eyes were rolled in the back of her head and her entire body was limp. I lost it. I was screaming for my husband to call 911 and was running around looking for my phone. I was screaming to God to protect my baby who laid lifeless in my arms, aside from shallow breaths. I called 911 and was panicking for them to send someone ASAP. My first time ever needing an ambulance and we moved from having a fire station about a football field away to the boonies where we have one neighbor. I didn't know how long it would take for them to get here.
She's doing great and acting like her normal self! The night was rough just having to wake her up every hour but she was exhausted and just rolled right back over.
I have to make a follow up appointment with her doctor tomorrow - just to check her out and give her a clean bill of health.
Last night I just kept replaying it over and over in my head. It all happened so fast. My husband and I have already experienced how life can change in one second six months ago when we lost Enoch. With Enoch it was a different type of fear: I feared for myself, fear of the unknown. This was just a different level of fear. This was fear for my baby - would she come back to us? Would there be permanent damage? It was just terrible!
Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes! They worked!!
Thank you guys! She is doing great and is in a wonderful mood. She's exhausted but still hasn't fallen asleep and it's nearly 11pm - probably because she's in our bed instead of her own.
Your prayers and thoughts mean the world!
My daughter had a similar accident at about a year and a half old. She was sitting on a bench right next to me and leaned back like she was in a chair and fell off & hit her head. She was unconscious for about 2 minutes & when she came to her eyes were rolled in her head as well. She came in & out of consciousness all the way to the hospital in her ambulance ride but all tests came back clear thank god. These things can happen so quickly and within arms reach of a parent. Don't feel guilty at all, it was an accident and thankfully she is doing well just like my little one did. They are resilient little people no matter how much it kills us to see them hurt. Sending prayers for speedy recovery!
My God I'm shaking reading this it has to be by far the scariest thing to go through...I will pray for your sweet baby and for you! Please get yourself checked too because that is something intense to go through. Please keep us updated and foremost I am beyond happy and relieved that your baby is ok! Hugs!!
Thanks ladies! We are home and resting. It's been a long day and will be a long night with having to wake her up every hour. So grateful my baby is ok!!
We reassured him that it wasn't his fault. He just said, "I tried to catch her but it was just too late."
He's such a good big brother, she's just at that age where she wants to climb and do what she wants.
Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts, she is still napping and I'm just laying here and cuddling her. She's my world, I just keep thinking of all the what-if's.
Something very similar happened to my 4yr old about 6 months ago. I saw the whole thing happen but it was so fast I couldn't stop it. We spent the day in hospital as he knocked himself out like your child. His head hurt for about a month and he was irritable for about 10 days, which the Dr's said was normal. He did have a concussion but that it shouldn't have any lasting effects. He's completely fine now but does remember it. Best of luck.
I can't take it anymore! Haley (yes my 1mth old and no I wasn't able to go through this "joy" of nursing my older daughter, Molly) has been screaming non stop for 6hrs! All she wants to do is eat and I can't have her attached to me all day, everyday! She has wanted to eat every hr on the hr for the past 3hrs! I put her in her room so I don't scream at her but I just can't take it!
Will your Mom be in the delivery room?
My mom made it sound like she was gonna be in the delivery room when I give birth, and quite frankly, I would just like it to be me and my fiancé. It's our first, and I want to share that special moment with just him. I don't want to hurt her feelings, and I know this is something she would really like to be a part of. So I feel bad telling her no.
I just absolutely love some women on here! Some woman wants to write on another women's post telling her she shouldn't be having sex at all in the beginning of pregnancy. I didn't know she was her doctor. Then she wants to tell me that the first trimester is only 1-9 weeks pregnant. And she lost her baby at 4 weeks pregnant due to sex. Like sweetie that's your period starting!
So this morning my fiancé and me went to my folks for Christmas. On our way there we had to stop at his ex fiancé house to drop off an ornament we found of hers when we were setting up our tree. I was upset because I really didn't want to see her especially on our first Christmas being engaged and our daughters first Christmas because she has been mean about me in the past. Now I come to find out that she has been asking him about our daughter and stuff like that. Do I have a right to be upset o...
This girl on my fb is 8 weeks pregnant with her first child and she said she felt the baby 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️people these days 😂😂😂
So glad to hear that she's doing okay ❤️
