So, my daughters name was gonna be Skye Marie but me and my husband loved the name Skye Arcadia-Marie. My mom tells everyone it is Skye Marie and I tell her I still need time to pick a middle name and she gets ugly about it. I don't think she likes the name Skye Arcadia-Marie...

I hate my generation sometimes ? Today was my nieces baby shower, which went great. She got so much which amazing since she's been working 2 jobs trying to save up for the unpaid leave she'll have to take from work. Anyways I was talking to one of the ladies there since my son and her daughter were playing together. I asked her what her daughters name was, she said it was Layla. I told her that's a really pretty name and asked her if she was a Clapton fan and if she was named after the song. This girl had no idea who Eric Clapton is. ? ♀ One of the most iconic songs, and she had no idea. I hate my generation. ?

I think you and your husband need to decide without the input of other family. If your husband loves it, I would really agree, it will make him feel good every time he hears or sees the name.

I like Skye Marie but like everyone else said, it’s YOUR choice. My dad picked out my baby’s middle name and I went with it because I also liked it, but he wouldn’t have been upset if I decided on a different name because it’s MY child and MY choice in the end. (His own words). Your mom should be understanding of that.

Your baby, so name her what you and your husband want. If you both like Arcadia-Marie, it's not your mother's place to tell you guys otherwise. If she doesn't like it, simply call baby girl "Skye."

Its unique and it has a ring to it. If your mother doesn't like, thats unfortunate. She had her time when she named you. Now its your time. Shell get over it. I say go with what you and hubby like. Don't do anything you'll regret just to please one person. Plus shell love that baby regardless of the name and in knowing that you should feel comfortable naming her whatever you like.

Skye-Marie Arcadia? Either way sounds and looks nice to me! It’s your baby, your choice! I know it’s cliche to say it, but the right name will come to you once you meet her, if you don’t feel it in your instinct right now, I’m sure whatever you guys choose will be perfect for her.
