I've read that lifting your hands above your head could wrap cord around baby's neck. ?

Because it will cause the baby to "unstick". And also later in pregnancy it will cause the umbillical cord to wrap around baby.

one time while 35 weeks pregnant working at mcalisters some batch told me she couldn't sweep because it would shake up her baby, she was like 12 WEEKS! I sent her a*s home and swept that shat myself.

I second the deli meat! I've ate it all throughout my pregnancy and my baby is completely fine. Turkey is just so good ?

The deli meat thing is a real thing. It is bc the bacteria listeria often lives in it and if you contract during pregnancy you can cause miscarriage.

It is advised to microwave or toast deli meat to kill the bacteria prior to eating.

The vaginal blowing is due to the possibility of an air embolus forming which can be fatal to the baby, mom, or both.

@nurse true true listeria won't cause issues on the momma but it is fatal to the fetus. That's another reason why I don't eat soft serve ice cream because of this risk. Those machines hardly ever get cleaned properly (I work in the food industry and over 90% of the time when they are taken apart they are moldly because they go weeks without cleaning and just fill with new mix)

The dumb thing I've heard is not to step out during an eclipse if you're not wearing a red ribbon or a metal safety pin on your belly or it will cause birth defects.

My mom said I can't have honey because botulism is dangerous for babies under 1. ?I'm pretty sure it's fine for ME to eat honey

when I was around 12 weeks during the holidays we were doing a game of like "bring me" which is when the host tells you to bring random stuff and then you race to get it first to the host and if you do, you win.

It's funny, because when I was pregnant with ds in 2001, my OB told me not to lift my hands above my head, because it raised the risk of the umbilical cord wrapping around his neck.

I was also told not to lift anything above 10 lbs.

Btw, listeria in deli meat is possible. It doesn't mean that all deli meat has listeria but it is possible if the food is not handled properly (ie: it was left unrefrigerated, unhygenic location etc). As an adult you would not feel any symptoms, but it is very dangerous for your baby. You can have miscarriage, early delivery etc. It is safer to warm the deli to kill any bacteria. Just think of it like food poisoning, you eat at a shady restaurant, a street food stall, or a suspicious food cart and you don't always get food poisoned. DO NOT TAKE THIS RISK. Just because you never get it before doesn't mean you won't ever.
