I set up trail cams and they didn't take any pictures! Attempt number two will take place tonight! LOL!
Mountain lion. They say they aren't in PA either and my neighbors have seen them. I'm always on high alert. Also a game commission officer told me they get sightings often but that it's easier to tell people they aren't around because if they think they are they need to put money into researching them.
Sooo according to Google, mountain lions are extinct in VA! There have been apparent sightings but no documentation or physical evidence!
I need to get me some pictures of this thing. It could be the first "official" sighting in over 100 years.
Definitely a mountain lion. We see these a lot. They have huge paws. Way too small to be a bear
Of course! Good luck!
Also check with the hunting board in your area and see if you need to report mountain lions. I know Illinois was (not sure about this year since new laws came out) that you need to report seeing a mountain lion in your area. Some places like to attempt to track them.
Yeah definitely is too small to be a bear print. Looks like a mountain lion maybe tracking something with hooves (to me it looks like he first one is a hoof and the lion stepped in it also)
My SIL is going to bring over her hunting camera to set up. And I know, without the snow - we would never know!! Scary!
My dog hasn't been over where these prints were. We have a run for him and it's on the other side of the yard. So the print definitely isn't his.
Thanks Capris! We definitely won't! I think the poor thing knows. He's been cowering under the able ever since we brought him in.
When we look at the first picture, we see a cloven hoof and then the lion print right behind it.
Don't let your dog out by themselves.
I think it's the same print. If you could see all of them, you can see where it walked around a snow mound and then off our front porch and over to the neighbors yard.
We have a dog, I'm afraid to even let him out now.
DH says mountain lion that is tracking whatever animal went through the yard to leave that print in the first picture.
