Grief is funny, sometimes you just want to sit in a dark room and do nothing, and then other times you need fresh air! My (other) SIL took me on a beautiful 3 mile hike today that led us to this place called The 7 Pools. It was a series of falls that each had a beautiful pool at the bottom. It was amazing and I needed every second of it! I just sat and soaked it all in, reflected on this past week, and of course, thought of my sweet boy. ???

Gorgeous, reminds me of the Ozarks. I spend my summer vacations in those mountains clearing my head.

Beautiful and your SIL is such a gift?

It WAS beautiful and it's hard to explain, but I just needed to get out of those walls. I needed to hear birds chirping, leaves crunching under my feet and running water.
Nature has always been very healing for me. Today, I was looking at those falls and I thought, man, if God cared enough to make these beautiful falls and pools, imagine how much he cares about me and my sweet boy. I don't know if that makes sense but it made me smile and I needed that so very much.

Where's this at?? Just wondering because we have a place similar called 7falls
Ashley Roan·
@supermommy - it's part of the Appalachian trail in Bentonville, VA
Hiking the entire Appalachian trail is on my bucket list! Probably not all at once until DH and I are retired, but for now, I'm going to hike a stretch of it every year from the very top to the very bottom.
