Ode to the fallen...
DD recently realized that the meat we eat comes from actual animals and needless to say, she's devastated. She now asks us "what poor animal are we eating tonight", and even though she still eats dinner, she will sing an ode to the animal who met its untimely demise in order to become our meal. Last night was chicken...

My daughter refuses to eat baby food anymore. She wants the food we eat. Is there something I can give her that she can feed herself? She only has two teeth. She eats toast and boiled eggs that we have found she can break down.
Super annoyed So we live with my fiance's mom. Pay rent, all of that. She's always commenting that we need to get our own food. We got food, and she started saying not to eat the food she buys, and that we should pick better things (we got baking items as well). We weren't really able to get enough stuff for us to be able to be not eat her food, so we got food stamps. We only get $140. She goes and gets her own shopping cart and gets $20 worth of stuff. Since we do eat her food, I'm willing to get some stuff, but I wasn't getting all of it. She gets mad, saying she always gets stuff and that the stuff she got was only a dollar so it wasn't a big deal. I still got a majority of what she wanted, causing us to have less than $100, but she's mad I didn't get everything. Am I wrong?

We grow and butcher pigs and cows. My daughter (4) likes to ask what part were eating and hasn't had a problem yet... She also watches when the animals are being butchered and knows we're feeding them and taking care of them so we can be fed and taken care of...
Recently she also figured out the circle of life for poop... Animals poop, it goes in the garden, we eat or the animals eat, they poop.... It goes in the garden...

My teenager became a vegetarian about 6 months ago. She's in the preachy newb stage so I just send her on her way when my littles ask why she's not eating what we have.

Oh my gosh- this clicked for my 6 year old step son when we were watching chicken run. He was NOT happy. I think he felt like he had been lied to lol. I don't eat meat but the rest of our family does so I found it pretty funny. He was like "so we kill them...and eat their bodies?!?! ?"
