Materni21 Blood Test
I'm getting this done next week, l'll be 13 weeks along. This blood test can tell the sex of the baby but my husband doesn't want to find out yet. He wants to wait until the ultrasound. I respect his wishes but I didn't want to find out the sex at all this time around and he said he HAS to know.

Before I found out I was having twins, my midwife wanted me to take the Progenity test which is similar. I didn't want to find out the sex that way because I just felt it was more special finding out through the ultrasound where you can actually physically see the gender. I ended up getting my wish because they wouldn't do the gender portion of the test with twins. Maybe that's his reasoning? Or he could just think the test could be wrong and he would get his hopes up?

The blood test is more accurate than the ultrasound. I would do the test and use the ultrasound as a confirmation.

I still cried when I found out with the blood test. I have always wanted a boy... I just had 2 girls first...

We are waiting until the birth to find out. However, if we hadn't and had the choice for the blood test, I would have still waited for the ultrasound. I feel like pregnancy drags on for so long sometimes, you have to have little surprises throughout to make it go a little faster. I can't imagine finding out the gender at 8-14 weeks like so many do. What do you have to look forward to after that, besides the birth?
