I want to buy this house! It's gorgeous and I just love everything about it. Here's the thing though... It's older than the US Constitution! Yup, built in 1780. What are the odds of it being haunted?!? Would you live in a house this old?

@carolina - I don't think it's as big as it looks. It says 2300 square feet. My current home is 3200 and it certainly is a b**** to clean! :-)

I love old homes. ??

Id buy it.

Definitely get an idea about what is or isn't updated though. As that can definitely add some cost, and should be taken into consideration when/if you decide to make an offer.

Reminds me of the house Noah built in The Notebook ?

It's gorgeous ! In London we can barely get a 2 bedroom flat for that price . Go for it (a lot properties in London are super duper old and I have yet to experience a ghost) good luck xx

Wow. That's inexpensive!!! Buy it!!!! I love old houses like these! ?

deleted-user

deleted-user

I wouldn't worry about it being haunted... I'd hate to keep up with the cleaning in something that big! Lol

deleted-user

deleted-user

I would live there in a heartbeat!!

And you can't beat that price!! It's gorgeous!

My house was built in 1908 so old houses don't scare me!

That's my husbands concern, how much work it needs! I'd be down for it though. I HATE how they just keep tearing these beauties down! We've been having the hardest time finding an old house to fix up that's on at least an acre.

We did find one a few weeks ago, gorgeous and renovated farm house built in 1890 on 25 acres! It got snatched up though! ?

The 1993 thing... There was a post a little while ago about if we would be creeped out living in a house built in 1993 because it was so old.

deleted-user

I wouldn't live there. I'm pretty convinced it's haunted lol.

Um yes I would move in in a heartbeat! I love old houses. The older the better. I've never seen a house around here that old!

The Revolutionary War started in 1775, so it was "declared" during the war.

Could we please see inside??? ??

We were actually already fighting the British when we finally declared independence... But we kept fighting for several years after the declaration was signed.

That's what I love about it. There is SO much history here! It backs up to an old mill that used to be part of the original property.

This house and the land (just over 1 acre) is $225K. The few pictures of the inside look gorgeous, although it does need some updating.

Kirby, don't be too hard on yourself. I minored in history and I happen to be fascinated by the revolutionary war.

deleted-user

deleted-user

It looks creepy but maybe because I watch too many scary films.

deleted-user

deleted-user

the declaration was written BEFORE the revolution. It declared to the world WHY we were revolting.

The house is gorgeous! Idc about ghosts, give me the house lol

Sorry, didn't see Kosh's response!

OP - there's no such thing as ghosts. It's a beautiful piece of history that I wouldn't mind having. I say go for it!

deleted-user

deleted-user

I would totally live in a house this old. So long as it had central a/c and a modern furnace.

No Kirby, that was the Declaration of Independence, which was written and signed in 1776 after we won the American Revolution.

The constitution was written during the Philadelphia convention in 1787.

Huge History channel watcher over here! ✋?

I had to google it ?? lol

deleted-user

deleted-user

@kirby- The Constitution was signed in 1787. The Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776. ?

ETA - To remember which came first, we cut ties with the Brits FIRST (DoI) and THEN came up with rules to live by (Constitution).

Don't you know any house older than 1993 is haunted? I mean seriously yuck!!

On a serious note, I think it is gorgeous and I would definitely live there

deleted-user

deleted-user

I would totally live there. The only time I get afraid of there being ghosts is when the inside of the house looks super old. So a few renovations and I'd be set. I ain't fraid of no ghosts either genty!

And if there are ghosts, who ya gonna call?!

deleted-user

deleted-user

If it wasn't built in 1993 then you should be fine! ??

Either way that house looks gorgeous and I would totally live there.

deleted-user

deleted-user

I'm not a fan of raised foundations, but it is really gorgeous. I don't believe in ghosts and as long as it's been updated, I'd live there. How much is it?

deleted-user

deleted-user

Ps the house is gorgeous! I would be afraid of ghosts though lol

deleted-user

deleted-user

Omg! Can I bring my rocking chair or my Adirondack recliner?

It looks amazing. I would not be afraid of ghost. Or should I say...I ain't 'fraid of no ghost.

deleted-user

deleted-user

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the constitution signed in 1776?

deleted-user

It's beautiful.

I'm scared of old houses! I lived in one but it was not haunted! ?

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?
