Full-time road trippers?
Full-time road trippers?
Any ladies on here full-time road trippers? I just want to sell my house, buy an RV/camper, and full time road trip it with my family in tow! I work from home and can work anywhere from the world so money/income isn't an issue.

It sounds great. But if you need Internet for work, a lot of places in the middle of nowhere don't have Internet/service... Like driving through the mountains or desert...

Lol a different lifestyle is not selfish and it's not robbing your children of anything.

It's not selfish. How many kids can say they have almost been to every state? They still interact with other kids. It's not like they are cooped up in between 4 walls all day everyday. My daughter seems to enjoy it.

If money wasn't an issue I would without a second thought.

It's not expensive to have a pet on the road. We have a ferret named Paco, he has a cage but he runs around like a little puppy. I have two dogs, a yorkiepoo and a chiweenie. I'm sure wherever you go their will be doctors and hospitals if they get sick. I mean I've went to a baby doctor in Iowa. I'm 15 hours away from Kentucky ( hometown ) when I want to see them I'll drive and see them.

I think it's an amazing idea! My dream ?

I do (right now I'm in an apt though till after baby is born) but it's normal in my culture. A culture which may or may not be falsely represented on a ridiculous TV show on TLC lol.

Socialization isn't a really big thing, you meet new people. Their is parks you can go too, where I'm at their is this huge park, with tons of kids. You don't have to stay cooped up in your hotel/camper. Get out and explore that's what it's all about, isn't it? :)

When I'm old I plan on it.
deleted-user·
I want to do this when I'm old!

There is a mom who blogs and does it with 12 kids. I'd love to if my husband could. Also you can easily homeschool on the road! Look for an all in one program everything you need comes in one box.

There is a Facebook group for families like that. It's called fulltime families I think. Join it!

This is what I want to do with my life once my parents are no longer with us! But SO like a root planted underneath us where he can garden and be at peace with nature in his back yard. It's going to be a difficult thing to compromise but we will figure it out!

What was that show where they did that? I think it was a spin off of touched by an angel?
deleted-user·
What about schooling and socialization?
deleted-user·
I'd do it in a heartbeat if we could afford it. There are so many teachable moments, things that living in one place could never expose you or your kids to.

Well usually we get hotel/ motels with a kitchen in it so more like a little condo type thing. When we go to Kansas we will be finding more of a condo house type where their isn't any other rooms attached. I must say I'm in Montevideo Minnesota right now and it's beautiful, I'd love to move here but unfortunately it isn't an option lol

I would want a towable RV. Safer driving for the kids.

One is in school. The other two aren't. He's the main reason we haven't done it yet.

I think it's pretty rad! Until you watch an accident that involves a self contained RV. Not so rad anymore ?

Honestly, I believe constancy, routine, and stability is really important for children

I'm a cyber security engineer. The company I work for allows me to work from home because I support all of my clients remotely. I am also a program manager. Most of my employees work out of Ohio, but a few others are geographically dispersed as well.
As long as I have internet and a phone, they don't really care where I am! :-)
deleted-user·
May I ask what do you do for work that allows so much flexibility ?
Ashley Roan·
@kyleigh, what are you staying in? Houses? Motels?
deleted-user·
Once the kids are gone!!!
I have to do this, by land and by sea! World tripper!
