MIL Saga continues...
If things couldn't get ANYMORE ridiculous in my life right now!
Oh my ; u need to sit her down asap and tell her she needs to back off thay yall are moving and u would like her out of the house By this weekend bc u have to prepare for the house to go up , and no she will NOT BE going with yall on yalls family trip bc it's a time for you and ur family .
Oh yeah, I'm not letting her push stuff back anymore. We have plans and she has opinions. Her opinions aren't going to affect my plans anymore! The other night she just kept talking about how us moving is the worst decision we will ever make and so on... I just told her that was fine if she felt that way but it was OUR decision to make, not hers. I appreciated her concern but I refuse to make decisions that will affect my family and our happiness based on fear of the unknown, which is how she has chosen to live her entire life!
We have a meeting with him on Thursday evening. I was hoping they would be gone by now so I didn't have to hear from the peanut gallery! But maybe this will show her that we mean business and we are outta here!
Tell her that they need to be out in two weeks so you can start preparations to put the house on the market! If she tries to change your mind tell her it's already made up and that you'll be giving a real estate agent a call soon(I don't know if you plan to use one but it might make it more realistic in her mind). I hope they get out soon in hopes for your sanity! Definitely sounds like you need a vacation!
@serenity - he isn't good at anything confrontational. He usually leaves that up to me, but I've been trying to keep the peace around here because I don't want my kids to feel/see it. Life is already crazy for them, I wouldn't want them to see any conflict between me and them and make my kids feel uncomfortable.
@heatherleigh - all my coworkers say that! They all feel sorry for me but since we all work from home in multiple locations across the country, they can't take me out for much needed drinks!! ?
Well we were planning on putting the house on the market this month, but now we are pushing it back first weekend in June because of them! They don't care what our plans are. Even today she randomly said I needed to push the move back a year (she doesn't want us to move).
Op, if I were you I would suddenly come up with some 'urgent' renovation or similar that absolutely needs to take place and then put a date on it. That will give your in-laws an eviction date. For example- I'm having the house fumigated, all bedrooms need to be vacant in 2 weeks time
@mags - I honestly don't think so. Our fight this morning (in addition to creepy BIL), was because he didn't do or get me anything for Mother's Day. I wasn't expecting a gift but I was hoping he would take some time with the kids to make me something sentimental. I'm really big on stuff like that so he knows how much it would have meant.
This morning I was trying to explain to him why I was so upset and I said "out of all the mothers days, this should have been the one you went out of your way for! After all the s*** I've been putting up with, after all these people living here and me cooking and cleaning for 8 people, I would have thought you would have done something nice, but no!!"
I'm a cyber security engineer and I train the DoD on how to adequately secure their IT systems.
It's not fun, but the trips are! :-)
Yes, they were supposed to move out yesterday. Now it's not happening until this weekend. It's one excuse after the other with her and I'm SO tired of it.
We went for a walk with the kids and I told him it wasn't happening. He said that we could use her military ID and get a good, cheaper hotel on the ocean if she went with us. I said I'd rather stay on the inside of the volcano. Haha!
Honestly, if I wasn't nursing my 7 month old, I would go by myself at this point. I need to get away from all these crazies, DH included!!
Update! We're going to Hawaii, MIL free, for 2 weeks!!!!!
Yayyyyyy!
