MIL moving in!
My MIL had a house fire two night ago and her, my brother in law, and DH's 91 year old grandma will be staying with us a while. They have insurance who offered to put them in a hotel, but DH's grandma can't live in a hotel so they plan on coming here.

My father and sister moved into a fully furnished apartment through his insurance when they needed to do mold removal on our house.

Yeah, this is going to be rough. My MIL and Meme are fine. It's the BIL. He's a PITA and he works nights, which means he's sleeps during the day when we are all active. I work full time from home and my mom comes to my house to watch the kids. Meme also has a nurse who comes everyday from 10-2.
Talk about a full house! Good thing I'm not pregnant anymore, I see a lot of drinking in my future.

We rented a house to a couple doing repairs after a fire. Their insurance paid rent for 6 months on our home, a 4 bedroom in a trendy neighborhood. They had no kids.

My neighbors house caught fire a couple of years ago and his insurance paid for a house for them to stay in until the house was Finished.

I had a friend who's house burned down when we were in high school. Their insurance had them living in a hotel for the first couple of week and then moved them into a duplex while their house was being rebuilt.

I lived in a hotel for 4 months in 2007 after a house fire. We even had our 2 cats and 1 small dog with us.

My mil had a fire in 2013 when we moved to sc.
The insurance offered to pay for a hotel, she decided to move in with her sister.
It was a disaster for her. They took advantage of her. ?
She ended up secretly moving into her home while the repairs were happening. There was no running water or electricity. Poor mil.
