Men can't shop!!

We just found out that DH's cousin and her kids are coming to town tomorrow. I have been busy cooking and baking all evening because we're hosting a Christmas dinner tomorrow, so he said he would go to target to get some presents for his cousin and her kids. I was planning on baking her some banana bread and he didn't know what else he should get her, so I told him just to get her a nice candle or candle warmer.

You guys! I feel so lucky! My husband is so much better at shopping than I am, especially for gifts. He was raised by well to do parents and was just more exposed to the finer things in life and just thinks of fun and awesome things. And buys and cooks yummmmy food.

Yeah thats why I never send my dh to the store lol. He's a very smart man, but when it comes to groceries his IQ drops lol

@Hannah, thank you for the suggestion! I've never thought about doing this. Online store pick up will be great for this when our lo is a month old with feet of snow on the ground.

Order it online to pick up in store!! I did this with Target on Xmas eve because I realized at 1am I had no nursing bras to wear to a dinner that day. I put DH as the pick up person and they had everything ready by I think 8 am, he picked it up at noon and said it was really easy. That way your SO can still help you, you pick out exactly what you want, and you can stay at home doing what you need to do instead.

Thats why i always order things online...or screenshot and say thats exactly it. Don't bring anything else.

I don't know how they can mess things like that up! Like, would you like that as a gift? Really? Lol.

I tell my husband exactly what I want and I show him a picture and screenshot it and send it to him. If he can't find it he'll call and ask me what now?

The cilantro comment has me laughing! Omg I can't even imagine ????

Lol

Reminds me of one time I sent dh to the store for Cilantro. You know how they sell them by a bunch, like 3 for a dollar or something like that. Well I told dh that I only needed 3. Well... this man comes home NOT with 3 cilantro bunches but with 3 actual cilantro leaves. I laughed soooo hard. I was like wtf did the cashier said? ."he was like nothing, she just looked at me and said that's it? And I told her yeah". He paid 10 cents for 3 cilantro leaves.

I've learned that you need to tell them what aisle, what color, what shelf and maybe give them a visual too so they can get the right item lol

Yeah, if I have something in mind, I normally provide a photo with my request. Lol it makes it so much easier.

From now on, I'll send him a picture of exactly what I'm talking about. Haha! I know he tried, I just cannot bring myself to give it to her so I will have to go back to the store.

I find that I have to be ridiculously specific with DH if I want him to pick up something for me. Like specific to the point of leaving absolutely no room for him to exercise his own judgment!

Lmao he tried though huh

Am I wrong to be upset? Last night I was running a fever, weak, tired, sore, my left boob feels like it got used as a punching bag. I asked my husband to call out of work today to help me with the kid so I could get some rest. He went to work. I texted him this morning. Part of me thinks I mean. The other part of me thinks I was fine for saying that because he should've stayed home with us.

ekko I see both sides. However, if you both work and him taking off one day isn’t going
2sweetie I’ve never asked my husband to take a day off when I’m sick. I just deal with
boymama523 He gets the choice to call off if he’s overwhelmed or sick. You (all us mommas) don’t.
