Here's her bio and general tips: Hello I am Ceiamaria I am a stay at home Mother to 4 children ages 12,8,7 and 11 months old. I am happily married for 12 years and we are still going strong. I am determined and driven for success FAILURE isn't an option for me. I potty trained my oldest at 9 months old. My 2 middle son's were more difficult they were between 18 months and 2 years old. My baby boy was showing interest in potty training, I decided to buy him a potty chair. Potty training tips 1.) Don't rush your child 2.)Don't yell at your child 3.) Don't punish your child for having accidents 4.) Don't give you child candy 5.) Don't compare other children to your child 6.) Do praise your child 7.) Clap your hands when your child goes to the potty. 8.)Take your child every 15-30 minutes to the potty 9.)Don't criticize your child 10.) I don't recommend pull ups but I don't bash mothers who decided to use them. 11.) Remember potty training is not taught in one day you have to be determined to potty train your child. Add your replies in the comments below! Thank you @smilingwithmyawesome4kids !

Bribery as potty treats don't work with her. She really just doesn't care at all.
We were successful in getting her to go on the potty once yesterday so that's something. I know I should wait until after Christmas but I go back to work Jan 5th from my maternity leave and I was really hoping to have her potty trained before then.

I'm with ya. My dd is 3 1/2 and absolutely refuses to poop in the potty. She will pee, but you ask her to poop, and she completely freaks out!! I've also tried everything. Just have to give it time I guess.

Bribery. Candy, stickers, whatever. My son is happy with two gummy bears. But only when he goes!

Iv been told by a lot of moms that when I try to potty train my daughter, don't let her wear a diaper. They said that their kids learned within a week to use the potty. Maybe try that. I didn't read any comments so I don't know if anyone has suggested it already... I'm pretty sure it's BB after all lol! Good luck :)

Patience, patience, and more patience. Comparing your kids doesn't help either. Every child develops at its own pace. She's probably just not ready. My son wouldn't hear of going in the toilet until one fine day when he was almost four, he just started going by himself. Since that day, he's had scarcely 3 accidents. Give her time.

My son is also struggling and he's 3. Trying again after Christmas. He's so smart but so stubborn.

Potty treats. My 2 year old is completely potty trained for daytime (:

I feel the frustration too. I babysit a 3yr old and the only thing so far that's worked is giving her candy when she does use the toilet. Which I dislike but its better than changing the diapers of a 3yr old.

My dd turned 2 on November. Just after her birthday, I stripped her down and left her naked from the waist down. I stayed home all day for 3 days. We didn't leave the house. I brought her little potty downstairs and put the potty insert on the big potty upstairs so she could go on either floor.
She had 1 accident on the floor. I didn't scold her, but just said, Whoops let's try to make it to the potty. She has since gone on her potty all on her own. I don't even remind her. I refuse to put diapers on her during the day. I bought a pack of pull ups to put in her when we go somewhere, and at night, but told her no more diapers.
The first few days she did not want to poop on the potty but she got used to it because I would not cave and put her in a diaper...and she didn't want to hold it forever.
Get excited when she goes. When she goes, she comes and gets me to show me and we do the 'potty dance' and sing the 'potty song'. ....A pee pee in the potty...a pee pee in the potty! lol. She loves it.
When we are home, she is naked from the waist down. If we leave, as soon as we get home I strip off her pants and pull up. Then she has no choice but to go on the potty.
Be consistent. That is the only advice I really have. Don't back track once you move forward. Good luck.

I feel you in your frustration!
My oldest turned 2 in nov. We do diaper free time alot and when he needs to go he asks for a diaper.? I ask if he wants to go to the toilet/potty (we have both a seat on the toilet and a potty so he can decide himself) but then he just gets very upset and says "diaper PLEASE". I try to lead him to the bathroom and he starts crying.
Its so frustrating because he knows when its time to go but just refuses to go unless he has a diaper on.
We have tried this so many times...

The starting and stopping is probably part of the issue. It's best to wait until they are ready and make a solid transition. I know it doesn't always work that way, but starting too soon is the main cause of potty training problems. My niece and my son are 6 days apart. She's been potty training for a full year and still has accidents often. I'm just starting training now. So that's a year of hassle I've saved myself and my son. Not all children are ready at the same time. Some train at 16 months, some not until 4. The range of "normal" is huge.

Take 2-3 days to make sure u are home all day and you don't leave the house. Put on underwear and if they pee on the floor so be it. They will not like peeing in the underwear. I did use a diaper during bed time though but took it off right when he got up. Buy carpet cleaner (if needed) and be prepared to wash underwear all day. It took my ds 4 days for it to click for him that I was not going to buy anymore diapers. I would also suggest using the regular toilet instead of a small potty. I had to then train my son to poo in the big potty because he always just wanted his small potty. I was so over cleaning that out everyday lol

A few weeks ago this was me lol. My son was giving me a run for my money! Finally I had enough of buying diapers for him. I told him he was a big boy. He immediately denied being a big boy. He told me he was a baby not a big boy. So we had to sit down and list all the things he could do that babies couldn't. I had to send a lot of positive vibes. Ex. Babies can't jump. So I would say "babies can't jump but you can just super high!" He would get excited and say yeah he could. After awhile I said see you are a big boy because you do so many big boy things! Then came the underwear. I put him in them and kept him in them. I put him on the potty about 10 minute after he would drink something and just watched him carefully. If he started to have an accident, I picked him up and ran him to the bathroom. I didn't acknowledge the accident or get mad (though I was very irritated to be cleaning up the mess) and I he went on the toilet, even just a little bit, I made a huge deal of it. He got a sticker for his chart and lots of high fives. He did well for 3 days. Still had accidents but would pee on the potty a lot. Day 4 was HELL! Complete and entirely hell! He did not use the potty at all. He peed on everything and I mean everything! My couch, the floors, his bed, my bed, kitchen chairs, kitchen floor. EVERYTHING! I almost put a diaper on him. I was sooooo tempted to put a diaper on his little whizzin butt. I somehow talked myself out of it. We went through 23 pairs of underwear that day. Day 5, he told me he needed to go potty for the first time. He didn't tell me again after that and had a few accidents. Day 6, something clicked cause he never went back. It's been about 2 weeks now and he is completely day and night trained! I am NOT looking forward to training my 15 month old lol

I just feel like she's being defiant. She's stubborn about almost everything, I don't want to be changing a 4 year olds diaper. ?

We tried with 2.5 yo DS but he was having issue know when he needed to go. We're due dec 31 so I just said to heck with it. I'm tired of cleaning the carpet. We'll try again a while after baby

Following as I'm having the same issue with my almost 3 year old son!

When my daughter was 1 and barely walking we got her a singing princess potty. She loved it. So we kept her naked and she would just sit on it like a chair . And then when she would pee it sang. And that's how we got her to potty train. She hated diapers and would rip them off as soon as she could. By 15-16 months she was completely potty trained .

We've taken breaks, this is the 4th time we've tried. She just refuses to do it. I don't know why. She's so smart, she just will not use the potty.
My son was not like this at all. He was easy to potty train. Everyone told me girls were easier than boys but that's not the case for me.

I just started potty training my little girl too she will be 2 in january, im gonna try sitting her in the potty every 2/hrs

Power struggles never work with potty training.

Try stopping for a few weeks. Don't even discuss it. At least until after Christmas.
