Update ? I think my dog is dying

Thank you, it has been a crazy week. Both of my girls got RSV and my newborn also had double ear infections. We were in the ER on Sunday and had 4 doctor appointments this week. I think I'm feeling a lot of guilt because I've been so consumed with my sick littles, I wasn't paying close enough attention to my doggy. :-(

Thank you. My husband didn't like her very much because she was so mean to him. I think he is really beating himself up now for not being more compassionate these last few days.

He dug her hole (which was so hard because the ground is frozen), I guess that's a mans way of saying goodbye.

So sorry for your loss, it breaks my heart and I don't even like to remember my old dog. I had her for 15 years and it was so hard on me when she passed. She was my best friend.

I had to say goodbye to my 15 year old dog on the 21st. It broke my heart and even a few weeks later I still find myself crying because I miss her so much. I did the same thing and held her while the vet gave her the shot. She was in pain and I know it was the best thing for her but I'm still so utterly torn up about it. She was the sweetest old girl and loved me with all her heart. I know exactly what you're going through and I'm so sorry you had to say goodbye to her.

I am so sorry for your loss OP. I had to euthanize my dog back in March and I know the pain and guilt you are feeling. Just know that you gave her the best gift besides a happy life, you gave her a pain free death. We take on that responsibility too when we choose to be pet owners and sounds to me like you are a great one.

what a good dog, and you have her a great life. I wish every dog were that lucky.

My heart feels so empty. She was my first baby. I keep remembering her life, when she was born, when my parents surprised me with her for my 12th birthday (my neighbors dog had puppies so I knew her from birth, even though I didn't bring her home until she was 6 weeks old). She was so cute and fat when she was a puppy.

She was super ornery in her old age, she nipped at my kids and hated my husband, but as I held her in my arms in her last moments, I realized she was only mean to everyone else because she was loving me in one of the only ways she knew how, by protecting me.

I'm going to miss her so much.

ugh I'm so sorry. I had to do the same with my 10 year old shepherd back in February. I though she had an infection and turns out it was lymphoma. it's a terrible feeling :(

I'm so sorry. My dog is 13 and has end stage cancer and I've had her since my teens and don't know what I'll do without her. I know exactly how you feel :(

Aww, I'm sorry about your dog. 5 years ago we had to get our cat euthanized because he had a UTI that would not go away. He would cry all the time and we tried everything to try to cure it. We decided it was best because it was so sad seeing him in all that pain and knowing we couldn't do anything. I'm sorry for your loss.

Oh, i am so so so sorry for your loss. I lost my first dog to lung cancer two years ago. It was all very sudden and it still hurts to think of him. I remember your other post and I've been thinking of you and your fur baby.

I'm glad you were able to give her such a long and happy life. She was obviously very loved.

I will be thinking of you. Sending love and light and hopes that all your happy memories soon outweigh this current sadness.

At least she lived/is living a long life...when I lost my dog she was only 4 years old and I balled like a big old baby
